This thread is a screenshoted documentation of my 3 ghost bans. By which I don't mean I wasn't getting engagement. My tweets showed up on the TLs of my followers. But the reply function was broken. Followers would reply and the tweet they replied to was blocked as "unavailable".
So it looks like I got shadow banned again within the past 30 mins. But I have a new theory. Last time someone suggested it might have been related so something I had recently posted about Ukraine. I kept it in mind but thought it was related to a different thread. >
@emilynussbaum
It's really the guy who "never had time for a wife" talking to the guy in the Navy and the bartender who thinks he can be an actor that really make it work.
You can just imagine them going "Does he really not know?"
"No, I really think he has no idea"
@IAPonomarenko
This war is going to be a turning point in Ukrainian history. And create a unified patriotic Ukraine. Also, a nation of combat veterans that just fought off Russia isn't going to accept oligarchs and corrupt judges. They sacrificed too much for that.
@SaintFeIIa
I know there's a propaganda element to everything I see out of Ukraine. But it's significant that what the Russians put out there is all cynical and violent and cheap. And the Ukrainians mostly put out stuff that's wholesome and about embracing life. It reflects their cultures.
@Futurealisreal
@laurenwilliams
@AskAKorean
@ezraklein
It wasn't that Ezra stepped down that really messed things up. The problem was that they removed all the Baathists who were vital in keeping Vox running. Without them Vox fell to sectarian violence.
@briandavidearp
Yes, this tracks. Raised on the nomadic steppe most of my father's teachings were about the horse and bow. But he taught me that horses were not the only prize we take from raiding. My status would grow from capturing the Slav women to sell, yes, but also to use as is my right.
@madeofmistak3
@SarahTheHaider
The thing that actually gets lost in this is that it's not that guys treat women they find unattractive poorly. We just treat them like we treat other men.
@RachelMComedy
In the theme of catastrophically expensive pussy:
King Edward to his "companion": I've spent enough on you to buy a battleship
Lilly Langtry: And you've spent enough in me to float one

I love the Hitler picture on the radio. They're trying to make it look like he just looks over when he's stressed from work like "Oh, hi Adolf. You just brightened my day without even trying". 🧑🍳🤌
@RachelMComedy
And Mulaney's bit about it in 3 years:
You know how when you break up you have a REBOUND fling? Well, what if you got that rebound fling PREGNANT? It turns out fresh out of rehab and a divorce isn't the best time to make life changing decisions.
@jakeisacrazy1
@DatingSims
No, it doesn't. And if you're talking about biz making decisions I wouldn't go with the guy who went into debt to work at Wendy's and can't figure out why people don't want to publish a 1500 pg bio of a philosopher even other philosophers aren't interested in.
@kittypurrzog
I know this is a joke. But in general the progressives really aren't helping their case against "We're not going to be like all the other oppressive socialist dictatorships" When even with limited power their first instinct is repressing any speech they don't like.
@SamRamani2
And I don't mean this as a political statement. I'm saying are they trustworthy allies? Should we trust them to have access to sensitive information?
@DmytroKuleba
Hey, personally very supportive of Ukraine. But trying to criminalize a symbol isn't going to help you with those supporting a liberal democracy. If anything this tweet works against the conception of a country fighting for freedom if it wants to criminalize speech.
"I can't believe that the thing I do to other people makes people mad and want to also do it to me. Why can't I try to ruin people without them ruining me. It's like you make yourself a public figure but then you're judged by the public. It's just so unfair."
@eigenrobot
It's like a fever dream fiction written by someone obsessed with the woke mind virus. And it's crazy that it dropped the same day Mark Cuban accidentally admitted to explicitly violating the law about racial discrimination when hiring. The writers had a story arc planned 4 today
I think it's all well and good that Zoe Kravitz is playing Catwoman (the kids of celebrities don't get enough breaks). But before we call this groundbreaking don't forget about Eartha Kitt playing Catwoman in 1966.

Nothing erodes credibility like refusing to accept mistakes. You don't have to be embarrassed or regretful. But if you were wrong you do have to forthrightly fess up.

"Men value/respect other men"
Do we? I haven't seen that. We value and respect our friends. And our friends are more typically male. But just some rando dude? Not really.
@GianmarcoSoresi
We used to have those. They were called civics classes. Ironically Vivek Ramaswamy wants to bring those back. But also making the ability to vote conditional on passing civics classes. Which, is something a civics class would teach people why that's a bad idea.
@AGHamilton29
@neontaster
She did have the pass. But there's still a prostration ritual you have to do when the mob turns on you. I sounds like she tried to maintain a semblance of rationality. Which was the worst thing. Cause that's really just feeding the fire.

Can we just point out that the NY Times now has worse editorial standards than Twitter. Twitter wont add an edit function because it could be misleading as people's responses wouldn't reflect the original statement they responded to. But the NY Times just calls that a "correction
An interesting thing about the Taylor Lorenz thing is how much WaPo went to bat for her. Accusing Glenn Greenwald of inciting harassment when all he did was present fair criticism. Now she really vindicated Glenn and made WaPo look terrible.
@Remember_Sarah
I think it's a relic of different employment incentives. People regularly stayed at the same company for 20+ years. Advancement happened more based on how your superiors felt about you. Now you're more likely to switch companies when you're ready to move up.
@jessesingal
"a Reddit employee was the target of harassment and doxxing sharing of personal or confidential information"
Being named in a newspaper article is not "personal or confidential information"

Ignore this offer. I'm a listener and I braise goats. If we can figure out how to get them to NYC I'll slow cook them in a pan with butter, thyme, rosemary, red wine, and chicken stock.

I mean John Mulaney might have rich parents but he's still legit one of the best standups. I can't think of anyone with as many specials with basically zero dead weight.

Just got a hilarious image of a doctor asking for a pee sample and a lady getting a gleam in her eye as she goes into the bathroom. 15 mins later the doctor know "is everything ok" She shouts back "almost there"

@eigenrobot
Serving that to your wife and making her pretend to be grateful for that monstrosity reminds me of that. It's not so much a kind gesture as a demonstration of power and loyalty if she is willing to force feed herself whatever that is for your sake.
@neontaster
I agree. But I don't think he cared about WS's career. That was pure professionalism borne of a 30 year career on stage to not turn the show into a fight and keep things moving.
Oh, and the joke to make is "I don't get why you hit me when it's what's in Jada's mouth you mad at."

Tangentially there's a whole thing about knitting and mathematics, which is mostly helmed by women. I can't find the article now but some female mathematician created some shape through knitting that hadn't been able to be done before for some reason.

"deemed... experimental"
This is something that's baffled me for years. How did it start with the assumption that it was proven science? And now how do you go from it was proven science to it's experimental? Like it seems like on some level they had to have decided that the >

One of Biden's most entertaining idiosyncrasies is his open resentment of the English in sympathy for the Irish. And a resentment that the modern Irish don't still retain.
The "people become more conservative as they get older" narrative is half true. But it’s more just that people become less progressive. You don't start thinking things are good. You just think this 23 year old's solution brings other, worse, problems.
@KeithNHumphreys
Oh, absolutely. One thing about just hardships in general is they're never as good of a narrative as made up problems. Real life always has parts that don't make sense unless you know like a whole other person's backstory. And even then you have to answer questions why everyone >

The first time you "get it right" can't be when it's politically opportune and expect people to not think you lack integrity. If you learned better just right now then you should just not comment until when it doesn't suit you.

I saw someone post something today about how Khrushchev talked about how Stalin demanded that commanders just throw wave after wave of frontal assaults at the Germans to retake towns. And Russia only improved when he let the commanders take over.

The funny part about the defenses of La Sombrita is none actually are defenses of it. Just corrections about some of the criticisms. Because "it's less terrible than you think" is the best they can do.

You mean the ones where the letter Z is now illegal? Or where a guy can get arrested for a YouTube video joke teaching his dog to do a Nazi salute? Yeah, not really too worried about their idea of civil liberties.

Yeah, and there are kids with emotional problems and social problems who can't figure out what's wrong with them. And telling them maybe they were just born the wrong gender is going to make some kids make choices they could regret for the rest of their lives.
