Where do you get the 12-18 month prognosis from? My father died 3 weeks after diagnosis. For a friend it was 8 months. Another friend’s dad has just died - 2½ months for him. When I was researching, 12 months was considered ‘long term survival’. Glioblastoma is brutal and fast.

I am 100% certain that this is incorrect. There is no meaningful follow up for patients who have gender affirming surgery. Add to that the risk of social ostracism which comes with admitting regret and you realise there is no way of knowing the true rate of regret.

I know someone (won’t doxx them here!) who did 3 months rehab with daily counselling (multiple addictions including alcohol). Some of it was bollocks but much was useful in learning to recognise patterns and triggers. They’re not cured, but alive and more sober than not, so 👍🏼

The NHS is indeed in a mess, and so know of one woman (friend of my sister) who died in late pregnancy because her eclampsia wasn’t diagnosed, but we at least do not have the situation where women birth unassisted at home because they can’t afford the medical bills.
