I always ask to see a female GP when it’s a specifically female or intimate problem. Goes back to when my GP was a (male) neighbour who became a friend and who I didn’t want looking up my fanny (or my arse come to that).
Little example of patriarchy for you. At the GP recently:
GP: how is your HRT? I see you have started testosterone
Me: Yes it’s great. I’m far less depressed and suicidal, and my urinary incontinence is pretty much gone

My amazing female OB/GYN got so furious at male resident who'd begun stitching she forcibly took over. Why don't they teach Drs proper clitoral/labial care BEFORE they get to the delivery room? My poor mom suffered horrific episiotomy- Dr didn't stich tissue flat, he overlapped😱
