Sounds like internal chaos in the Scottish Greens tonight following candidate list publication. Allegations that members’ votes (done through STV) have not been distributed properly. Party denies it. Now the internal elections officer has quit says she didn’t sign off on this 👇🏻

He adds: "Do we want to be a party of government or something else? There's maybe an underlying tension there. I actually think we can do both. But whether we're in government or whether we're out we've got proven track record of delivery.".

He refused to be drawn on the internal in-fighting between him and Chapman. On his "battle for the soul of the party" comment, he says it wasn't "specific to me and Maggie. It was more about what people wanted as members to see in their representatives".

Asked why he thinks he came top he says "some of the messages that I was putting out, particularly around just transition and public service cuts, really resonated with a lot of people. So it might just be that inspired people to vote for me, but that's a guess.".

He adds: "When it comes to trans rights, I co lead the Rainbow Greens and we are again unequivocal that trans rights and women's rights are not in conflict. That's the way we see it. I know there are a lot of people who maybe disagree with that.".

On Palestine he says "All of us are seeing what's happening on our TV screens. We can see war crimes taking place. We can see this is a genocide. So my support for the people of Palestine is unequivocal, and the Israeli government needs to be held accountable for its actions.".
