Bumped into Neptune at the bar.

One of my best friends is a painter and we often go to workshops together. We're at one now. She's the only friend where we laugh so hard to the point of crying and our stomach hurts. We seclude ourselves from everyone else. A blessing to find such people.

I love painting veins.

I'd rather Venice be rented one day by Bezos for a glorious wedding than thousands of commercial tourists who trash the city and make it unlivable for locals.

Running barefoot at the park with my dog, close to midnight. Lights on, many people around. It's too hot during the day to go out. Night owl summers are the best.

During the boomer era, heat was "in". Tanning was a marker of upper-class leisure, holidays were booked in tropical locations. As comfort subsides, we year the cold and the dark, where we feel more energetic, unencumbered by the noise. Pale skin is a marker of elegance.
