SEC IAC did not engage with minority investors or representatives for its opinion.

said it best in her 3/9/23 testimony to Congress: communities of color may miss another wealth building opportunity if excluded from crypto under the guise of “protection.”
Investor Advisory Committee to SEC ("independents" advising SEC on desirable policy to protect investors) recommends SEC treat essentially all tokens as securities and pursue aggressive enforcement... argues crypto harms racial minorities
infuriating take but par for the course
The movement to

is gaining steam, prompted by the efforts of US Congressman

Here is what Superintendent Adrienne A. Harris. of New York State Department of Financial Services had to say at the 4/19 House hearing on stablecoins.

Several reports of mass gang rape of Ukrainian children by Russian soldiers came out after the invasion a year and half ago. More reports are continually being released.
@BillKristol
@GOP4Ukraine
So if the war ends quickly, is that less of a victory for the US? Does the US have incentives to prolong the war at the expense of Ukrainian lives?
Custodia Bank is really interesting: all they want to do is offer non-fractional banking to customers to give them the option of ~zero risk banking.
Yet for some reason the regulators refuse to allow this. Why?

How 70-80 year olds are generally regarded as unemployable due to mental decline / skill mismatch - yet they're exclusively running the country

It's ridiculous that Russia is allowed to launch missiles into Ukraine from its Black Sea ships, and Ukraine is supposed to just accept this

It’s difficult for teens to get jobs now because minimum wage has been raised to price out value of teen labor. According to some, if full time work can’t support an adult above a certain level, then that job should not exist, even if the job is meant for teens.

It’s ok, ppl will leave Crimea after a successful invasion, Ukrainians will move in, and suddenly most ppl will be in favor. It’s what happens when Russia successfully invades a territory too, but in reverse.

No matter what the smarts say about the decision, the end result is that it protected XRP retail investors. That’s the outcome that matters.
SEC only cares about retail investors in name, but not in actuality.

miss that allowing the SEC to “protect” retail crypto investors actually harms them. Retail investors need protection from the SEC. Judge Torres might have noticed this, and ruled in their best interests, which is the ultimate underlying policy.
@paulkrugman
Explanation is much simpler. Regular people think of inflation as absolute price level, while economist think of it as rate of change of price level.
As crypto bills in Congress might be getting close to creating clarity on the SEC/CFTC question, the Biden admin starts another war with IRS and Treasury regs. Biden must be removed.
Productivity loss: I talked to someone who works at a tech company with a $100B+ market cap yesterday. He told me that two engineers were fired for pasting propriety code into chatGPT to debug the code. And that chatGPT is blocked in the entire company.

Hate crimes should be punished as felonies with multiple year imprisonment. Russians should not be allowed to travel to Europe.

The odds that aliens resemble humans is very low, and any depiction of aliens that resemble humans means the depiction is a human fantasy
@twobitidiot
Might be a simpleton take, but if the government is by the people, for the people, then the gov is subordinate to the ppl. And that means gov should not be allowed to keep secrets from the ppl, but the ppl should be allowed to keep secrets from the gov.

Rent is usually about 5% of the value of the property, so this is just a tracing of the real estate asset bubble. Housing should not be a store of value. It should be a place to live.

Nothing would hamper the Russian war efforts more than the disconnection of German machines and software on the military plants. Is it possible? It's difficult to prove. What is easy to prove is that Russian industrialists feared such a backstabbing. Fortunately, they were wrong
@WallStreetSilv
Housing should not be a store of value that outperforms inflation (and almost every other asset out there). Housing should be a place to live. When housing rises by more than inflation, current generation is stealing from the next.
