While Putin’s armies have struggled to live up to expectations on the battlefield, his ability to intimidate the West has been arguably the Russian leader’s single greatest achievement of the entire war. He is now trying to use the same intimidation tactics against Europe

1/ Just back from Kyiv (after Washington). The mood has turned darker — even before last night’s strikes. The word “winter” is back, not just in forecasts but in tone. Energy, money, morale — everything now bends toward one goal: survival.

It looks like the Korobkovsky gas plant, which had drone sanctions applied to it, is going to be offline for quite some time. Expect the real impact of this attack, which destroyed the largest gas plant in the southern russian swamps, to become apparent over the next few weeks📉

More signs that the "stagnating" russian economy is actually crashing outside of war spending. Low demand is forcing a broad range of big companies to cut costs. Automotive, cement, coal, metallurgy, railways, lumber, mining, almost all industries are affected. Tick tock⌛️📉💥

The Russians began to attack, so the choir & audience carried on in the Odesa Opera House cellar. Odesa is a largely Russian-speaking city but most Odesans hate Russia & love freedom. As I have observed, after each attack more people choose to speak Ukrainian in defiance.
