My assumption is that the US took in more money than it spent on direct budget (that’s good). However, the “surplus” is like saying you had $5 left over after grocery shopping - but ignoring that your credit card bill rose by $500 this month. It’s technically true in narrow.
We've brought in nearly $100B in tariff revenue so far and are on track for $300B this year. That's almost 1% of GDP. June delivered a budget surplus with higher revenue and lower spending. This is how we clean up the fiscal mess we inherited.

Cool story, but my tweet that’s being “co-opted” by the media actually had nothing to do with the one person who sold 80k bitcoin. Completely unrelated.
coindesk.com
A $9 billion BTC sale by a Satoshi-era whale triggered Scott Melker to question OG conviction, sparking debate over Bitcoin’s future and institutional shift.

He’s right, by the way.
No technical aspect of Bitcoin has been “co-opted”. The network remains cypherpunk and the tools get more so by the day DESPITE or even, I would argue, BECAUSE of mainstream adoption. Major challenges around education, mining decentralization, privacy remain, but “co-opted”? No.

Going to have to permanently eliminate “co-opted” from my tweets.
Bitcoin is amazing, but it’s obviously been co-opted to some degree by the very people that it was created as a hedge against. Many of the most ardent early whales have seen their faith shaken and have been selling at these prices.

This place is wild. This tweet sparked a great debate, multiple articles in the media, lots of disagreement. Plenty of hate. The funny thing? It was fired off in a series of tweets stating that I was sharing the opinions of others on my show, not my own. I don’t think bitcoin.
