In my village people started leaving books for kids to find in waterproof folders with note saying it’s theirs to read to keep, or swap/hide again, the kids love finding the books, read things they may not have picked - a true treasure hunt. I’ll be hiding them again in spring.

Autism often has a sensory processing element, the senses you describe fall within interoception- they can also include pain tolerence differences. This is one of reasons things like haircuts may feel painful and socks too tight etc can be such an issue.

As a parent of a child with an acquired brain injury 7 years does not feel like near enough. She is a mother, they are unlikely to have the same mum again. He should have been done for attempted murder along with GBH. I wish her a full and speedy recovery ❤️🩹
