Can we please stop referring to the NHS as one entity as if it is a homogenous blob like Amazon? The NHS is a huge patchwork of thousands of clinical and non-clinical organisations ranging from awful to outstanding. Tarnishing the whole service with one sorry brush…

I am so disheartened 😞 The CURE for the overwhelmed hospitals & ambulance queues is sitting in a fridge somewhere while GPs, nurses & pharmacists are sitting, waiting to help like an impotent civilian army. I should be vaccinating 100s of patients today. #CovidVaccine

Lots of people outside enjoying the sun as they should be. Seeing lots of critical tweets- firstly, outside transmission is minimal. And secondly many people don’t have gardens or outside space. Before taking pics of people in a playground, take a look at yourself.

I think if you are a doctor and you are speculating on the cause of death of anyone, never mind a celebrity who has died unexpectedly, you really need to sit back, stop and ask yourself what you have become. And think about a bereaved family you are traumatising.

At my GP surgery currently discussing how we can protect our staff from abuse from patients. Nice. Massive escalation recently. Language. Aggression. Blackmail. Clapping seems long forgotten. Staff not happy to be front of house. #NHS #nhscrisis @rcgp @Parody_RCGP

Since when do #PayPal get to tell us who people can and can’t support. This is online tech control on steroids! And bear in mind you can literally destroy your life gambling online with PayPal, I don’t think they’re in any position to censor the rest of us @UsforThemUK 💪🏻💪🏻

What a basic narrow-sighted comment typical of commentary on #COVID19 Some people will not be at a Christmas table next year because they were alone isolated all of 2020 and died from physical or mental health conditions exacerbated by loneliness .

Every single time you think about closing schools. Every time you hear someone flippantly negate the sacrifices of the young. Every time you hear politicians gloss over the mental health effects. Think of this boy. And his family. RIP.

GPs and #NHS staff on the ground are doing all we can to promote vaccine uptake often in our “spare” time, even if it helps one person to get protected. I’d be grateful therefore if experts can be careful about wrongly saying these vaccines don’t work against variants

Anti vaxxers must be crying this morning 😭 Over 25s so keen to book #CovidVaccine the minute it has opened… This is a reflection of what I hear from patients and see on the ground. People trust science and millions who had it already rather than conspiracy Kim on YouTube

Do the maths. If it was really only about antibodies, we’d have had 1000s of reinfections a day by now. Antibodies have never been the only aspect of a fully functioning immune system.

Are the people who run the Zoe app aware of the worried-well-false-positives they are creating and the increased GP workload they are creating, with people phoning us now worried about diabetes because of the app and once feeling a bit thirsty...... Very frustrating and unfair…

1. There is a compromise between big jolly& total isolation. It’s not all or nothing. 2. A death = a death. Whether from covid or loneliness. Grief is the same. Pain is pain 3. There is now a #Tsunami of mental health problems that cripple, ruin & stop lives. Unimportant?

What’s your plan then - tell everyone to have a big old family jolly over Christmas, and hope the virus doesn’t notice?

Any patients who needed or wanted to be seen face to face today I saw. And it made me realise something was missing from this whole discussion: *Most GPs want to see patients face to face* It’s nicer. It’s easier. It’s safer. It’s why we went into medicine. That’s it.
