The hatred for doctors comes from the top. It is an ingrained culture. Those who earn more than doctors, and continue to have lifetime earnings in excess of a decade, will pay nearly half price to the same regulator @gmcuk . Just another reason why doctors are leaving the UK.

So we heard today at the select committee debate @gmcuk will be charging £221 per annum for PA/AA registration. Why do I as a doctor have to pay £433? I would much rather pay £221 as well, and come to think of it, I just might cancel my direct debit right now. 🙂

@drcolinm @donalmurray2002 @gmcuk If there is no cross subsidy, why will non-doctors pay nearly half (£221) what doctors pay (£433) to the same regulator? It is unclear, and doctors are rapidly losing faith in @gmcuk @VirtueOfNothing @EmergMedDr @iDrSunny this has not aged well

@EndlessTravell2 @TheBMA @SteveBarclay Junior doctors are asking for pay to be restored (in real terms) to what it was in 2008, not for more. It’ll stop a lot of doctors leaving and feeling unvalued

@Chris_English_1 @JonathanBeech77 @GeekyRob @archeryjessica @SteveBarclay @archeryjessica did not claim to perform this surgery. However, many junior doctors are qualified to perform a variety of operations independently. It is frankly disgusting that you would lie and then spread fake news.

@UKGastroDr Would you be able to provide links for doctors to raise these concerns to their respective colleges, societies and associations?

@misspaulalondon @Hugh_Pearson_ @BirgitC @quackophage @Zaeem_Mahmood1 @Xeon4f145d96s1 @goldstone_tony @TheBMA 15 years of below inflation pay awards. 10x more of a pay cut than the average worker. Doctors have been a running joke for too long. Nothing smug about fighting for what we have lost, to retain Britain’s best and brightest in the country.

@trentconsultant @goldstone_tony @mjv__1 That’s not entirely correct, engagement correlates extremely well with a series of new reps (of which Doctors Vote for). It would be naïve to discredit the original comment. Before my time, I had never seen a rep walk on wards and address doctor concerns F2F for example.

@DocShivSharma @Doctors_Vote @Xeon4f145d96s1 @MichelePaduano @TomStocks1982 @Doc_IonaCollins @DocAnonX @DrPhilBanfield This funding is not used in junior doctor study budgets to allow for study leave and develop themselves in the future of healthcare education Instead, it is only "permitted" for a consultant or a PA. Non-consultant doctors are being defunded right before our eyes.

@wesstreeting If you don't like what you say, don't say it. If you don't like the way papers represent you, don't speak to them. Doctors won't forget your ongoing insults - even when you try and escape responsibility on technicalities. Do better or resign.

@GreetJanssens @adamgordon1978 @GeriSoc Holding a doctorate is an incredible feat. However: ‘Doctor of medicine’ is a legally protected title and the public would reasonably assume that anyone introducing themselves as ‘doctor’ in a healthcare setting meant a ‘doctor of medicine’. Do what is right for the patient.

@misspaulalondon Read a book and you can become a "studied" armchair expert on @GBNEWS just like Paula. Doctors on the other hand would never deliberately misinform the public, especially on national television.

@EndlessTravell2 @TheBMA @SteveBarclay This is not a race to the bottom - I speak for my profession when I say that doctors support others who should be paid what they are worth, we do not deserve to lose pay. Doctors are asking only for what has been taken from them over the past 14 years

@RishiSunak It's cheaper for you to pay doctors than spend £1b+ trying to mitigate their strike action You won't fix crumbling hospitals, and you've removed the 2 week wait cancer target because more than 10% of the UK are on a waiting list You have bad blood, show us you actually care
