🚨Stop & watch the future of the NHS‼️ My blood is boiling: ‘I’d not heard of physician associates until about 3 years ago’ (now in Resus alone) ‘We work exactly like doctors do just different training’ & ‘The medic is confident she’s addressed the most urgent of issues’ ☠️

Huge congratulations to our former Chair and President Clare Gerada on becoming a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords. A lifelong College member and now a Baroness – but first and foremost a grassroots GP who continues to deliver exceptional care to your patients and to fight

Pages of ACP jobs in: Gastroenterology Urgent care A&E Haematology Oncology Paediatric ED…. Can anyone say what these ACP roles do that is DIFFERENT to a dr? “No funding for doctor’s jobs” - yet paid more than a resident doctor? This is OUTRIGHT dr replacement at scale
The Trust executive told me the reason for receiving more than 500 applications for each clinical fellow (doctor) job is the lack of funding for new posts. Meanwhile, there are pages full of ACP jobs on the NHS Jobs website.

Hold on Is this an NHS hospital website describing someone without a medical degree as a ‘Consultant Cardiologist’?

🚩🚩🚩 GP turned up to run a patient clinic to find he’d been replaced….with a nurse practitioner?! “Working alongside, not replace”? “Working in a different capacity to drs”? ALL gaslighting we hear time & time again to cover up DIRECT doctor replacement by non-doctors!
Turned up to session this AM only to find I’d been double booked- replaced by a nurse practitioner. PM tried to send me home in the hope they wouldn’t have to pay a GP. I stood my ground,as this was booked over a week ago-not my problem they couldn’t be bothered to cancel. 1/2

For once I am lost for words
A MUST READ thread. The gov’s 10YP “skill escalator” to allow shortcuts to work as a doctor: 🚩NO GCSEs 🚩NO medical degree 🚩100% online learning HCA ➡️ NA ➡️ RN ➡️ ACP ➡️ Work as a doctor Practicing medicine without medical training?! Patients WILL die & we must push back!

Hey @LG_NHS and @bentravisceo can you confirm that it's true that non-doctors are seeing life and limb injuries in resus? How do you justify this risk to patients? How can a patient in resus consent to being treated by a non-doctor?

For the people saying an ACP is equivalent to an ST3. To be equivalent you need to have completed equivalent training, this includes medical school. Can you tell me what course is equivalent to a primary medical qualification? Ill wait. #AskForADoctor

✨APPARENTLY✨in the SAME TIME it takes to *complete a medical degree*, a NON-DOCTOR can become EQUIVALENT to DOCTOR WITH 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE I would say doctors shouldn’t stand for this, but sh*tty consultants are the reason for it You should be afraid Your families should
@LittlePersonDoc @KreedKafer @RCEMpresident @gmcuk Hi Jen. I have no experience in my trust of any non doctors acting in place of a medical consultant. I do work with great ACPs who function to about a CT3 level, but never work without senior supervision (almost always a consultant, even at night).

Many years of bachelor's degree, masters degree, medical school, foundation training, specialty training, post graduate exams, training portfolio, thousands of hours of independent study... ...but told I'm equivalent to someone who did a two year masters degree 🫠

There is a very specific type of self-hating Doctor that has infiltrated UK medical practice and flipped everything on its head Wherever you see degradation of standards you also see these people, who hold their own positions and that of other doctors with so much distain that

Monday - lost her job as a PA as training deemed unsafe for role Tuesday - working in the SAME capacity but with a title change to “Trainee ACP”?! Same training except ACP modules taught by nurses instead of doctors?! So same role, same training…just different title?!
PAs have been sold a pig in a poke ''Why study all of medicine and then be told you can't practice...[sic]'' ''intense medicine model like PA'' ''taught by doctors''

So… Nurses Pharmacists Paramedics Midwives Physiotherapists Dieticians Radiographers OTs ODPs Can ALL do an ACP course & then diagnose, treat & prescribe for undifferentiated patients- equivalent to an A&E dr or GP?! This is not “top of scope” - this is practicing medicine!

This thread created a bit of a stir. But as one of the few doctors trained in HoM, I think it's important to elaborate WHY I think this type of 'research' is such a problem. A thread on HoM. 🧵
‼️ OK this is insane, read full post ‼️ ‘MEDICINE WITHOUT DOCTORS’ In other words: Medicine without knowledge Who wants this? Well, this is who is behind the £4.7M project to phase out doctors from medicine ‘Dr Ingrid Young’, another HISTORY graduate who has inserted
