I have never pretended anything different. There is a clear agenda to deskill doctors and substitute them. It is a shame that there are nurses out there who are happy to facilitate the displacement and substitution of consultant doctors supervising registrars - the consultants

Clearly there is a nursing requirement for patients in plastic surgery. Mobility, hygiene, wound healing, graft viability, dressings (type/size/application etc!!), patient education, and patient advocacy all of which become increasingly important with increasing patient.
Consultant Nurse Kate wants to leave the NHS because she lacks a registrar to supervise today: they’re busy with the trauma list at the main hospital! Tough day, Kate? 🙄

I do find it ironic that the NHS martyrs in the Royal Colleges who have promoted and championed “skill mix” to “save the NHS” resulted in deskilling the service and have set the fuse to killing the NHS. This is certainly a “different perspective” they never expected.
Hope so. Dealing with the NHS these days feels like undergoing ritual humiliation: terrible service while treating you as if you are a child. There is no other domain in my life in which people are so patronising while delivering such a substandard product.

Looks like UMAPS have dropped the discrimination against women ‘ BAME’ PAs and are now focussing on women only .

There should be an NHS index list for every single service provider, their location, and their referral contact details accessible to all clinicians. It does not have to be on e-RS. It should be a simple website. If a tertiary level service wants to refer to a local community.

I don’t know this doctor but they’re standing for election in the college. The college should do better and respect a period of purdah rather than giving an obvious promotion using college resources. This is unfair and unreasonable. The college needs to make amends and reach.
