This is awful for local residents and farmers. The Environment Secretary must share information urgently and grip this to protect the local population and animals. Defra Ministers should be hauling in @sewateruk and demanding action now. @SteveReedMP @DefraGovUK.
Hundreds of households in East Kent have been without water for 3 days. @sewateruk has a bottle distribution point for residents but there’s NO WATER for livestock. DEFRA ministers should have intervened but no sign…@stevereedmp - what are you doing to sort this out?.

Defra has announced before Steve Reed speaks at groundswell that it is capping its capital grants programme for doing things like restoring hedgerows and fixing water quality at £35,000 per farm. There was previously no cap to allow for large projects to be funded.

Completely agree, Caroline. I am proud to have @_RobbieMoore, a family farmer, on our @Conservatives team as our Shadow Farming Minister. Everyone I meet across Lincolnshire and the country has nothing but praise for him. We are working to create a brighter future for farmers.
As I went round the Lincolnshire show so many people were praising Robbie for his great knowledge of farming, strong work ethic and charming manner. They were also horrified as they told me of the interaction you describe. I cannot believe anyone is proud of such rudeness!.
