The Elgin Marbles were legally acquired by a private individual before the modern Greek state existed & were looked after in British Museum for 150 plus years before the Greek government decided to take care of the Parthenon properly in 1975.

The devolution of policing in England has to end. The Mayor of London should have no control over the Met Police. Just as the London County Council & Greater London Council didn't. The devolution of policing has been a disaster.
