We're often asked to list the benefits of brexit. I think parliament setting the laws the country has to follow is a benefit in itself. So what about those laws? Do they offer any upside?

Trump linking Greenland and Chagos isn't a coincidence.
Paying to surrender the Chagos Islands is not just an act of stupidity, but of complete self sabotage. I’ve been clear and unfortunately on this issue President Trump is right. Keir Starmer’s plan to give away the Chagos Islands is a terrible policy that weakens UK security and

Labour’s manifesto said they would reform and replace business rates with something better. Instead we have continued lack of direction and more U turns rewarding those shouting loudest whilst leaving damaging elements in place. https://t.co/Nf0cSi9Ght

But like I've said previously it's best if Europe takes a united position. The UK needs to balance this very carefully and act in unison with international partners.

I mean everybody loses in a trade war but lets not kid ourselves that the EU is some sort of match for the USA. It fell behind years ago by over regulating itself to death. The chances are Trump will back down after his threats don't work.
[1/6] A reminder: Europe has cards to use against the US. Lots of them. Eg: - Tighten screws on US digital giants (taxes, fines, even bans) - Export taxes disrupting US supply chains eg pharma - Exclude US firms from European procurement, inc defence https://t.co/dcUvXB3i4H

And USA wants Greenland for its natural resources. It has bugger all to do with security.

This ignores relative power. Trump is an imbecile. I never supported either him or Biden / Harris. The US was left with an impossible choice. Europe would be wise to stick together while Trump is President.
Britain should repurchase America. After all, it was ours once, and it would enhance our North Atlantic security. If you don’t sell it to us, President Trump, we’re going to impose tariffs on the U.S. and any country who supports you in resisting this very good deal. Fair?

Sorting out the peaks and troughs in marginal tax rates is a no brainer @CCHQPress @Conservatives
The Tories should pledge to end this. The £100k salary cliff is a huge handbrake on growth and it's a zero risk and practically free policy change. More than free, it will increase the tax take.

A terrible idea. President Trump is completely wrong to announce tariffs on the UK over Greenland. People in both UK and US will face higher costs. These tariffs will be yet another burden for businesses across our country. The sovereignty of Greenland should only be decided by

Both of these people are lifetime Conservatives who jumped ship to further their careers. Pochin attended a Refugees Welcome event in 2022. Jenrick was an ardent Remainer. Reform voters are lying to themselves if they think it's not an act.
The Tory Party is dying. Anyone who believes this country needs patriotic, small ‘c’ conservatism that protects our borders, restores law and order, values common sense, and prioritises economic growth and small businesses rather than taxing the British public to exhaustion

Brilliant Reform read by @LucyGJWhite Nigel Farage allies foresee tensions in Robert Jenrick’s defection — The recruitment, along with Nadhim Zahawi, steps up competition for top roles in the party, including that of Reform’s prospective chancellor. — That’s a post thought

A lot of worried Reform supporters about. I don't know if they're trying to convince other people or themselves.

Just for the record, last Friday’s WhatsApp exchange (emojis covering my children’s faces on my wallpaper!)
💅 Camilla served up the receipts, Rob Jenrick served up denial Tune in to today's Daily T where @CamillaTominey questions the now former shadow justice secretary on why he told her in a text he would 'never' defect to Reform and then 6 days later, did just that 👇 Let us know

My guess is Kemi will now shoot up to the top easily going above Jenrick's previous satisfaction ratings.
Jenrick was top, but not by much, in most recent @ConHome survey of Tory members (Nov) https://t.co/gehh6liFyr

Kemi will probably stay as leader till the next GE. That was already looking likely after her last 6 months as leader. Now I think she can feel more secure and confident and move forward. A few more concrete policies and a vision and the Tories will move even higher in the polls.
