Lovely to be at the official Streatham Kite Day yesterday for the best day of kite-flying we've had during my time as our area's MP.
Thanks as ever to our amazing

report by the cross party All Party Parliamentary Group is published today and calls on the Government to listen to mums & end the postcode lottery in maternity services. Our headline recommendations to Prime Minister
@RishiSunak
:
The Tories spent an estimated £3.2bn on agency staff from 2020-22 - enough to train 86,000 new NHS nurses.
Outsourcing is an expensive political choice that leaves our NHS short-staffed and the public short-changed.
We need investment in our nurses and NHS workforce

In 2019, the Tories promised to recruit 50,000 nurses. How’s that going?
Nursing vacancies in 2019: 43,452
Nursing vacancies in 2024: 43,339
About as well as any other Tory manifesto pledge.

we celebrate the NHS nurses working under incredible strain to keep us healthy.
Nurses are the backbone of our health service.
With 40,000+ nursing vacancies across the NHS, our government needs to start acting like it.
The situation in Sudan is horrific, with genocidal forces encircling a populous civilian area in Darfur, where the 2006 genocide took place.
This comes after a year-long campaign of ethnic cleansing

4 in 10 council homes have been flogged off to private landlords under right to buy.
The fire sale of council housing leaves the public paying more and leaves more and more people living in expensive, insecure and poor-quality homes.
Time to end this failed policy.

There are just 3 partially functioning hospitals in Rafah.
Even without a full-scale assault on the area, medical facilities are overwhelmed.
We need an immediate & permanent ceasefire and an end to arms sales now to avert catastrophic loss of life.
It is indefensible to ship arms to any country that has presided over huge civilian casualties and now loudly announces its intention to bomb and invade another densely populated urban area.
The quantity is immaterial

Great to join last night's demonstration against the Tories' deportation regime and recent shock raids.
Stop the raids. Stop the flights.
Expand safe routes. Speed up asylum claims. Let people rebuild their lives in safety.

The decision to reintroduce BAME Labour is a disservice to BAME members and a disregard for the Labour Party’s commitment to democracy.
Upholding conference approved democratic BAME structures for BAME is now more vital than ever

The offensive in Gaza has shown that arming Israel was always wrong.
But now that even the US government is scaling back arms shipments, there is no longer any excuse for our government to let UK arms sales continue.
Time for an embargo

Despite women having practised law for a long time, the legal profession has struggled with representation, systemic inequality and being accountable to the wider public.
Pleased to see that following campaigning and protests outside the Garrick Club, women will now be let in!
Rafah is not just home to a vast number of Palestinian civilians displaced by the bombing and fighting.
It is also a vital conduit for humanitarian aid to enter an area on the brink of famine.
Israel's latest offensive will choke it off.
The despicable trade in African human remains perpetuates a dark legacy of exploitation, colonialism, and dehumanisation.
We need to ban these sales and ensure that the remains of those who were stolen from their homelands are respectfully repatriated.
The lower the Tories sink in the polls, the more desperate they are to blame refugees for their own failures.
Head to Downing Street tonight at 6pm to protest against their shock detention raids and Rwanda deportation scheme

NEW: Waiting times targets have been missed every single month since the last election by most NHS Trusts.
Only a Labour government will make sure patients are treated on time. We’ve done it before and we’ll do it again.
