Not to be melodramatic or anything, but the reason I voted against Brexit and still think it’s a really bad idea revolves around a belief in international cooperation and avoiding global military conflicts. Call me idyllic but I’d like to avoid war and maximise freedom.

I live in the Netherlands. We have too many tomatoes! We used to export them to the UK but it now takes a truck driver 77 hours of queueing to take tomatoes to the UK and all truck drivers simply refuse. So now we have cheap abundant tomatoes here in the Netherlands.

Wow. It’s not “some court in Colorado”. It’s the “Supreme Court of Colorado”.
Do you know the United States has separate states, each with a Supreme Court?

Boris is driving his own car at 60 miles an hour.
Keir is driving his own car at 60 miles an hour.
Boris is driving 60mph in a 30mph zone.
Keir is driving 60mph on a 70mph motorway.
Only one is committing a traffic offence

- these are corporate roaming charges, and are illegal for EU companies to use. But Boris has changed the law to allow British companies to have roaming charges. The EU bans them. These are British roaming charges. Correct your headline

Poor Darren doesn’t realise how dates work.
The photo on the left was taken when strict lockdown rules banned gatherings of more than 2
The photo on the right was taken when such lockdown rules were not in place
Darren doesn’t know how dates work I guess…

I’m an immigrant to the U.K. and an emigrant from the U.K.
I arrived, I prospered, paid a LOT of tax, Boris brexited and I left, and now paying tax in the EU.

No mate. Ireland isn’t part of Schengen, and Irish citizens are NOT subject to ETIAS when travelling into the Schengen area. Exactly like British people would have been able to enter the Schengen area without any ETIAS if Brexit didn’t happen.
This is entirely due to Brexit

Yea I mean what are the green jacket rules going to say “he lost by a mile but because his dad helped him it doesn’t count?” Lol. Obviously it won’t count. Just leave him be 😊
For those commentators in the UK saying “see, Proportional Representation didn’t prevent the extreme right getting power in the Netherlands” - well, if FPTP was used in NL it would mean:
Out of 150 MPs:
Geert Wilders’ PVV with 101 MPs (instead of 37)
Green Labour with 28
VVD 15

I live in the Netherlands, where we have a surplus of tomatoes and tomatoes are now cheaper than in 2020. This is mainly because the Netherlands grew and exported a very large number of tomatoes to the UK, but truck drivers refuse to sit 77 hours in a queue to take them to the UK

Simply check the % of German energy dependency on Russia when Merkel came to power and the % when she left office. She basically doubled dependency on Russian energy imports during her time, to over a ruinous 60%!

I received an item worth 100 pounds from a UK shop - delivered to me in the EU by DHL - all prepaid. Upon arrival I had to pay an extra 38 EUR just to receive the item - not VAT - it’s simply to cover the cost of the import paperwork faffery.

If only there could be a country somewhere just off the coast of Europe, on an island, also subjected to the same global impacts of covid and Ukraine but yet still a member of the European Union as a kind of control to check our hypothesis?

Italy’s new PM, Georgia Meloni, says Mussolini was a great leader.
If you think she’s not ‘far-right’, you really need to brush up on your history.
She’s what she says she is… a fan of Benito Mussolini.
The right should stop calling every fascist “centre-right”. It’s so lazy.
Italy’s new PM, Georgia Meloni, is not ‘far-right.’
If you think she is, you really need to brush up on your Nazi/Fascist history.

There is a major *scale* issue.
Hospital beds in England & Wales:
1987: 400,000
2022: 140,000
2022 population is much larger and older than in 1987.
France 386,000
Germany 487,000
Any way you look at it, at least doubling staffed hospital bed capacity is urgently required.
@Steven_Swinford
Cabinet ministers didn’t complain when Donald Trump made the withdrawal deal with the Taliban. Cabinet ministers didn’t complain when Donald Trump withdrew 12,000 US troops unilaterally last year leaving only 3,000.

Here in the Netherlands we have too many tomatoes and they’re cheaper than ever. The Netherlands used to export tomatoes to the UK but truck drivers refuse to sit stuck in a Brexit queue for 77 hours just to drive their truck back from the Brexit barren lands.

Nick, the average Tory MP earns £150,000 a year in basic salary and expenses - giving us a gigantic economic crisis and collapse in GDP and huge inflation higher than any large economy with slower growth than any large economy. Maybe you should take a pay cut, ey?

I live very close to a hospital and an air ambulance makes an urgent trip to the roof helipad roughly once or twice a week. Sometimes during the early hours of the morning. It’s something you live with - because it helps someone in an emergency. Why would anyone complain?? 🤕🙃🥲
The UK has a lot of trucks without drivers.
These aren’t new technology driverless trucks. These are parked trucks.
Trucks deliver food and medicine.
Parked trucks don’t.
