For those who oppose the Russian invasion and want to see Ukraine prevail as a sovereign & democratic country, it is clear that Witkoff fully favors the Russians. He cannot be trusted to lead these negotiations. Would a Russian paid agent do less than he? He should be fired.
Here is the full transcript of Witkoff working directly for the war criminals Russia. It's like giving help to the Nazis to take France in WWII. @SenatorWicker @SASCGOP @RepDonBacon @RepFitzpatrick this cannot stand: https://t.co/IpA0SeoWaL

and now, @business's incredible scoop: "[Kirill] Dmitriev suggested sharing [with Witkoff] a paper informally and said he was confident *that even if the US didn’t completely take Russia’s version they would at least do something very close to it.*".
I happened to see an early version of the "peace plan" , about 6 months ago. It was a purely Russian concept and was nearly identical to what we see today (certainly the 50/50 Russian assets + EU investment in Ukraine reconstruction was there). However two items are glaringly

Oh wow. According to @business, it was Witkoff who proposed the idea of Putin calling Trump ahead of the U.S. president’s meeting with Zelenskyy at the WH on October 17 - and even offered talking points for the Russians. A must-read.

So, Ukraine will once again sign yet another brilliant "peace plan," just to avoid irritating Trump and keep him from getting an excuse to betray it. And Russia will once again reject it, and it will carry on destroying Ukraine and dragging out sanctions and buying time. And

The President continues to ignore that it is Russia who invaded Ukraine & bombing cities every night. Putin ordered this invasion. Why the moral confusion? The war started before Trump’s first term. I’ve heard President Zelenskyy thank America many times for our military aid.

Until the Russians give up their goal - to destroy and absorb all of Ukraine - the war will not be over. Only pressure on Moscow can end this war.

Trump’s 28-point peace plan with Russia “is misnamed,” @anneapplebaum argues. “It is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future.”

Together with the leaders of Europe, Canada and Japan, we have declared our readiness to work on the 28-point plan despite some reservations. However, before we start our work, it would be good to know for sure who is the author of the plan and where was it created.

Foreign nations now have to deal with rival factions of the U.S. government who keep major policy initiatives secret from each other and some of which work with foreign powers as the succession battle for 2028 begins, is how one diplomat put it.
State Department is backpedalling on Rubio’s backpedal. If for a moment you thought the grown-ups were back in charge, think again. We’re still in the circus. “Unbelievable,” mutters one disbelieving senators

I served as our Ambassador in Ukraine for 3 years under Putin’s missiles and drones but resigned when Trump kept appeasing Putin. America does not bow to dictators. It’s not who we are. Here's why this Trump-Putin so-called "peace plan" is a disaster:

A moment ago in our telephone conversation @ZelenskyyUa presented his position regarding the American peace proposal. It requires common work. Russia cannot impose its conditions on Ukraine or Europe. Everything that concerns Poland must be settled with the Polish government.
