You condemned people as "citizens of nowhere" and "queue jumpers" when you thought it served your political interests to be divisive. You cannot, with any credibility, ask people to unite behind you.

Nah, the seat was 60% Leave and the bookies thought you had it in the bag. Farage showed up to gloat and then legged it into the night. You know full well it's not a great result for you. If voters are really gagging for no deal you would have won it. They aren't.

A remarkable result for our 8 week old party. If we can come so close in our 201st target seat, no seat is safe. We're very proud of @MikeGreeneTBP & our supporters who worked so hard. Thanks to the people of Peterborough who voted for us - we promise you that we're here to stay!

I had the misfortune to work with you on a proposal for unilateral guarantees for @The3Million - which you pretended to support but then voted against. You are utterly unprincipled: a personification of why so many people are disgusted with politicians.

It is with deep regret and after reflection that I have had to tender my resignation today as a Brexit Minister. Thank you for the opportunity. I look forward to working to support Brexit from the Backbenches. This has not been an easy decision.

The public in each constituency decided to vote tactically. And it's not the role of the Attorney General to engage in this sort of hyperpartisanship.

I very rarely make comparisons to Nazis, but calling groups of people "vermin" was a standard dehumanizing Nazi technique. This law breaking outfit is becoming ever more extreme and disturbing.

By "sprung by law firms" Mr Cole means to say "the Home Office was acting illegally". Not so much speaking truth to power here - more like grovelling to it.

Imagine, if you can, the decent, principled speech that Johnson *could* have given. "The UK has left the EU, but we will work together tirelessly to help the brave people of Ukraine. And Leave and Remain voters can equally get behind this vital alliance."

Resorting to bullying & intimidation is not the type of the leadership or behaviour anyone should sanction or endorse. In an era where political conviction is ridiculed for the comfort of conformity & compliance, its a shame such little respect is shown to the views of others.
