The thing I find astonishing about some of the so-called progressive left is the hatred, intolerance and contempt they display to people who just have a different view.
Trashing British ties with the EU to sign a trade deal with a failing state led by a demented violent racist. Hard Brexit becomes an ever more squalid, bankrupt doctrine with every passing day.
It's now definitive that Vote Leave broke election spending law. They dropped the case on Friday afternoon in the hope that no one would notice. Retweet if you want to confound that hope.
A genuinely terrible appointment. I worked with her on a inquiry to secure EU citizens' rights, and she then voted against the results of the inquiry. Untrustworthy and untalented.
Again, these aren't new EU rules. They are existing rules for non-EU citizens if their country has not signed up to free movement. The Mail campaigned for years for the UK to become one of these countries. It simply lacks the integrity to take responsibility for the consequences.
People banned from travelling more than 15 minutes. "Blanket" 20mph speed limits. Meat taxes. Fake gay refugees. Jews terrified of Sadiq Khan.
The Conservative party has simply become addicted to lying. It lacks the competence or integrity to make an honest appeal to voters.
Some of the footage circulating online from the vigil in Clapham is upsetting. I have asked the Metropolitan Police for a full report on what happened.
My thoughts remain with Sarah’s family and friends at this terrible time.
Our democracy relies on press freedom. Good journalism exposes wrongdoing and injustice, it scrutinises people in power and it champions truth.
Every single day journalists are called upon to be fearless and fair. Today, we give thanks to them all.

🇨🇦What is happening right now in Canada is appalling.
🗽It seems civilisation will have to learn, once again, that the main purpose of democracy and the rule of law is to enable the public peacefully to restrain political power.

An important response from Julian Jessop.
As the next election approaches, we will see self-proclaimed “fact-checkers” pop up to undermine any good news about the UK economy.
Rigorous analysis, as shown here, is vital for separating fact from fiction.
I've delivered a letter to Gareth Southgate demanding to be added to the England team, a letter to the Nobel Committee demanding the Nobel Prize for literature, and a letter to the BBC demanding the news budget be spent on producing daily episodes of Doctor Who instead
Leader of the Brexit Party Nigel Farage has delivered a letter to Prime Minister Theresa May demanding his party is involved in the Government's Brexit negotiations
Today Grant Shapps lied about the 27 people who drowned in the Channel by falsely accusing them of breaking international law.
Hi
@grantshapps
. Your words in the wake of this tragedy are an immoral disgrace.
‘It was tremendously naïve on behalf of the broadcaster’
@StanleyPJohnson
The Conservative Party is embroiled in a row with Channel 4 over its decision to "empty chair" Boris Johnson during its election debate.
And there it is. Having whined (misleadingly) that Parliament did not get a vote on free trade agreements negotiated by the EU, John Redwood just voted against Parliament getting a vote on FTAs negotiated by the *UK government*:
Contemptible hypocrisy.
Suella Braverman, in the House of Commons to address the petrol attack on an immigration centre y'day, tells the chamber Britain facing "an invasion of our southern coast" by asylum seekers, which prompts uproar in chamber.
You wanted to leave and to end free movement. You won on both points. Therefore passports are stamped. This takes longer than not stamping passports. Therefore this delay is a consequence of your actions. Accept some responsibility for that for once.
Oh dear. When the French decide not to staff their borders adequately, it’s the fault of the British people for voting not to be ruled by the EU. It’s a weird way to join the dots, but hey ho, that’s Remoaner logic for you 🤪
I am deeply honoured to have been awarded a Damehood (DBE) for public and political services, having been nominated by our Nation's greatest Prime Minister since Margaret Thatcher, the Rt Hon.
@BorisJohnson
, it was an honour to serve in his Government as a Minister & a Whip 🇬🇧
The first claim is demonstrably a lie, as Farage was in Tulsa two weeks ago today. The second claim implicitly misstates the quarantine law in England: there's no "negative test" exception from the obligation to self-isolate for two weeks -
To all those screaming and shouting about me going to the pub.... I have been back from the USA for 2 weeks and I have been tested — the result was negative. Sorry to disappoint you. Cheers!
Cummings said it was vital that he got back to work in London. But one of the first things he did was to amend his 2019 blog post to make it look as if he had predicted the virus in advance.

players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media.
It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.
Again the Prime Minister falsely claims that a "foreign court" is the issue - in fact it was the UK Supreme Court that found the Rwanda policy unlawful
"Parliament will sit there tonight and vote no matter how late it goes," Rishi Sunak says
The PM adds "no foreign court will stop us getting flights off"

What a speech by the Prime Minister. I’ve sat through a fair few PM conference speeches now, that was something else.
No messing around, decision after decision to improve our long term future. Courage too - which is why I am proud of my boss today
Good lord man. You literally advocated and voted for this treaty and called for *shutting down debate* on it, and now you quote a reference to it as "imposed"? You utter, utter charlatan.

Last night Andrew Neil organised repeated pile ons of his abusive followers against me, for pointing out that the numbers in this study are wrong.
This morning, the author of the study significantly revised the numbers.
Author of study which projected UK deaths could come in under 6000 says modelling overtaken by reality; 20k-30k is much more likely if the measures being taken are effective in flattening curve. (So 5700 figure should be dropped entirely by commentators)
The UK chose to leave the EU and free movement. Brexiters wanted to treat EU citizens in the UK the same as non-EU citizens; therefore UK citizens in the EU are treated like other non-EU citizens. FFS grow up and stop whining about the consequences of your actions.
"Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their 'betters'." p383
Last week your party's MPs legislated to remove the government's obligation to negotiate family reunion for child asylum seekers.
Your words are hollow. Sit down.
As long as I am Prime Minister, I will never allow this country to forget what happened 75 years ago. I will do all I can to see that we continue to learn the lessons of the past.

Today, Remainers are responsible for *spins wheel* the consequences of a US Presidential election.
Next week: Remainers found responsible for late buses, Muzak and Maradona's handball
Josephine sets a great example to us all by postponing her birthday party until we have sent coronavirus packing.
Together we can beat this. In the meantime let's all wish her happy birthday (twice) whilst washing our hands.

We’re ending free movement to open Britain up to the world.
It will ensure people can come to our country based on what they have to offer, not where they come from.
5/ Lord Frost very, very falsely states that the Northern Ireland protocol was 'imposed on us'. In fact, the UK govt presented it as a negotiating victory, campaigned on it as an 'oven ready deal', and Parliament voted on it.
Steve Bray has spent six years screaming abuse through a loudhailer at me and many others as often as he saw us for the ‘crime’ of trying to fulfil the democratic decision of the UK to leave the EU. This action by the police to stop his violent protest is very welcome 👏👏👏
You condemned people as "citizens of nowhere" and "queue jumpers" when you thought it served your political interests to be divisive. You cannot, with any credibility, ask people to unite behind you.
Nah, the seat was 60% Leave and the bookies thought you had it in the bag. Farage showed up to gloat and then legged it into the night. You know full well it's not a great result for you. If voters are really gagging for no deal you would have won it. They aren't.
A remarkable result for our 8 week old party. If we can come so close in our 201st target seat, no seat is safe. We're very proud of
@MikeGreeneTBP

I had the misfortune to work with you on a proposal for unilateral guarantees for

It is with deep regret and after reflection that I have had to tender my resignation today as a Brexit Minister. Thank you for the opportunity. I look forward to working to support Brexit from the Backbenches. This has not been an easy decision.
Suella Braverman(Attorney General) - "It's disappointing to see that there's actually a dishonest electoral pact between the LibDems & Labour, & that's more worrying"
I very rarely make comparisons to Nazis, but calling groups of people "vermin" was a standard dehumanizing Nazi technique. This law breaking outfit is becoming ever more extreme and disturbing.
By "sprung by law firms" Mr Cole means to say "the Home Office was acting illegally".
Not so much speaking truth to power here - more like grovelling to it.
Imagine, if you can, the decent, principled speech that Johnson *could* have given.
"The UK has left the EU, but we will work together tirelessly to help the brave people of Ukraine. And Leave and Remain voters can equally get behind this vital alliance."

Resorting to bullying & intimidation is not the type of the leadership or behaviour anyone should sanction or endorse. In an era where political conviction is ridiculed for the comfort of conformity & compliance, its a shame such little respect is shown to the views of others.
