A friends hospital was offering incentive pay to get them to pick up tonight. Friend picked up for the mentioned incentive. Once at work they told the nurses who picked up they’d be canceling incentive pay at 2300. Friend said ok then I leave at 2300.

It happened again, another hospital that won’t allow doctors to culture a patient with new presenting sepsis who has a central line, catheter or ventilator because if the cultures come back positive they’ll get dinged. But don’t worry they’ll still start 3 antibiotics 🙃

My hospital system refused to renew any travel contracts and stated they won’t offer any new contracts. They also cut the incentive for their own staff to pick up by over half so I’m not sure who they think is going to take care of the patients but doesn’t seem like they care
