@RNSuperHero
I’ve had a couple of surgeries where the hospital stays were rather long and I can’t even express how uncomfortable it made me to have my personal medical info discussed in front of other patients. Once my info was then discussed between the other patient and her gossipy family.
@RNSuperHero
I’m a student and an educator once demanded I give him a full handover outside the door of a 4 bed room, and afterwards one of the patients literally told me he’d eavesdropped on the whole thing
It was terrible
@RNSuperHero
I was coming out of anesthesia and heard doctors talking to a patient named "Carl", and I was so worried for him, I apparently started yelling, "Carl! Carl! Are you okay?!" from my bed. When Carl was leaving, he asked to be wheeled over to me so he could assure me he was okay.

The last time I was in the ER of our major regional hosp., when they "brought you back" it was to a bay that looked to have once held 2 beds (based on ceiling curtain tracks), but currently held about 20 chairs, almost all full, & that's where people were getting *examined.*
@RNSuperHero
Yeah they’re definitely not. I had a couple leave our triage area once because they found a scenario with another patient too traumatic to listen to
@RNSuperHero
We used to do double patient transfers. In a confined space like an ambulance that type of thing was a real problem. Especially when one of your patients needed care.
One of the many reasons I hated the double transfer. No privacy.
@RNSuperHero
Yup! I was in the hospital last year for a week. Let me tell you I knew EVERYTHING that was going on with the other person in the room, and NOT because I wanted to.
