A friends hospital was offering incentive pay to get them to pick up tonight. Friend picked up for the mentioned incentive. Once at work they told the nurses who picked up they’d be canceling incentive pay at 2300. Friend said ok then I leave at 2300.

It’s never patient abandonment if you 1 you agreed to certain terms. 2 you’re not walking out. You notify them well ahead of time. Same if you go home sick mid shift

Wouldn't it segue into holiday pay for Labour day at 2400?Is the incentive pay better than the Holiday pay? We always got double time for Labour Day.

I’ve had similar happen to me. Agreed to go in on a vacation day because the money for that shift would’ve been huge.
Then paycheque comes and I got paid straight time because they decided to move my vacation day without my knowledge/permission.
