the jerry thing even took me out when I watched the show a decade ago and tbh I think it ages the show even more than its VERY "Obama Era Neo-Liberal" stuff would have anyway. just seemed out of place, even with them trying to balance it out w/ his beautiful family.

it wasn't much of a thing back then though, like we had myspace but the landscape wasn't at all like it is now with how deep everyone is steeped in it. those around me were into that stuff anyway from older family, magazines, tv, etc. pop culture exposed us to it.

currently, I'm more concerned about the militarized police forces than I am about solidarity. we saw in 2020 that large swaths of society are capable of coming together, so I have some hope there, but govt/corps saw all of that too and used it to further fund/endorse police.
