They’re not wrong. My dad’s independent living facility in Naples, FL just raised rent/board 23.6% over just the past 2 years due to “significant wage increases and substantial increases in the cost of food, fuel, supplies and utilities.” Inflation is a regressive tax.

The avg property tax RATE needs to be applied to avg home VALUES to determine property tax REVENUE. On this metric, CA is among the 10 most expensive. There is no torturing any math to make CA look “cheap” - it is not.
