I hate New York City right now and I wish I'd never moved here. This feeling will pass, right? Right? Someone reassure me.

Nasty replies to this original tweet are quite sad because they show that tons of adults are unable to assess risk. Risk to children, people in their 20s & 30s, of dying from COVID (even w/o vaccines for under-12s) is astonishingly low––lower than risk of death by car accident.

I'm becoming increasingly annoyed by the "masks are no real imposition" crowd. Yeah, they're a relatively easy & low-cost protective measure, but they take something significant––but hard to measure––away from human interaction. We can't see other people's reactions, we can't

Why aren't mainstream media outlets calling it the Inflation Reduction Act? It's weird not to refer to it by the name it was given.

President Biden has signed a long-awaited bill meant to reduce health costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and raise taxes on corporations and wealthy investors. He called it "the biggest step forward on climate ever."

It remains confusing to me that the state is given carte blanche to seize our money, wasting tons of it in the process, getting into deep debt, failing in many cases to fix problems, denying people the freedom to opt out, but don't focus on that, tech CEOs are the real villains!

the government spent 7 trillion dollars last year. we're 29 trillion in debt. nothing is better. but we demand our CEOs fix the world, as a side project, with a few billion. i've been wondering: is this bc they’re the only example we have of leaders who’ve actually done anything?

It's obviously incredibly disrespectful of Sullivan to trot out a colleague's death like this, but that grossness aside...at what point do we say: People have made their choices. They're not mindlessly manipulated by Rogan, they have access to ALL kinds of information out there.

My former colleague, the beloved ⁦ @miggyrod33 ⁩, died Monday at 47. I don’t know if he ever listened to Joe Rogan’s podcast; I do know that, with 900,000 Americans dead of Covid, the misinformation spread there is inexcusable. My column. No paywall.

How do people see the Amy Cooper/Christian Cooper situation as one with an obvious good guy & an obvious bad guy? To this day, I do not understand it. But sure, reward him with celebrity while she continues to be in hiding, notorious & ruined, reputation sullied forever.

At one point did having a "punchable face" become grounds for a "journalist" with ~300k followers to sic their fans on a teenager? You have got to be fucking kidding me. I have few followers in the grand scheme & EVEN I feel the need to be very careful with what I spread.

Life will never be risk-free. A vaccinated 40-year-old's odds of dying, if they contract COVID, is astonishingly low. When people get hysterical about this, it's important to be empathetic, but also to say: Your fears are unwarranted & you should speak w your therapist.

You can get an abortion anytime during a pregnancy in New Jersey (though you'd be harder pressed to find a provider who would do it in third trimester). I mean, seriously, blue states in the U.S. are *really* out of step w how most European countries handle this issue.

Ah, it's not that a bunch of conservatives, libertarians, and lefty civil libertarians were concerned about the government's new Truth Czar, and the subjectiveness with which "misinformation" is determined, it's that we all *fucking love*...human smuggling & domestic terrorism.

This is kind of a stunning piece because it totally fails to establish how the Supreme Court is broken and "radicalized" beyond the fact that rulings have been issued that go against liberal priorities

The preachy, one-sided scoldiness/selective truth-telling of the MSM is not in demand. The cunty-radical shtick of Gawker types is not in demand. The glossy-mag Condé Nast fluff is not in demand. This does not lead to media class self-reflection, which tells you a lot!

It's weird that this case is being portrayed as an abortion when it sure looks like a whole, viable baby that was possibly harmed by misoprostol/mifepristone, deliberately burned, placed in a plastic bag, and buried in a field by its mother & grandmother.
