I joined @SDFoodBank for an emergency food distribution for federal workers, military families, and everyone needing some extra help right now. It shouldn’t take a court order to force the Trump Administration to do the right thing and even partially fund SNAP.

Now let’s do the nation. Free, universal child care is the proactive, pro-economy, pro-family vision we need for the future. https://t.co/j7CVd70qD3

Republicans just tied the record for the longest U.S. government shutdown in history because they refuse to extend lifesaving ACA premium tax credits for millions of Americans like Stacy Cox. https://t.co/a7eyaiknf9

Our child care system is very broken. We need bold solutions. That's why I introduced the LEGACY Act – to tax trust fund kids more and invest that money to build a free, federal, universal, and multimodal child care system.

Cartels pose a serious problem – but illegally bombing criminals to fix a drug epidemic is not the solution, and it makes border communities like mine in San Diego a bigger target for retaliation. https://t.co/MHpbiC3VWR

Donald Trump campaigned on ending the forever wars but he’s launched unconstitutional strikes on Iran and illegal strikes in the Caribbean. He wants to test nuclear weapons again–and now he’s threatening to go to war with Nigeria. This is reckless and doesn't make us any safer.

If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, “guns-a-blazing,” to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing

Undocumented immigrants are not and have never been eligible for federal SNAP benefits. So when Republicans cut $186 billion from SNAP and when they slow-roll funding for SNAP, they’re hurting American citizens only. https://t.co/LB570z5fcL

Republicans in Congress are so hell-bent on taking away Americans’ health care that they don’t care about costing the economy $14 billion to do it. But yeah….sure…they’re “fiscally conservative.”

Don’t take it from me, listen to Snopes! Speaker Johnson signed a bill to cut $186 billion from SNAP. And again, it’s HIS party that won’t help millions of Americans put food on the table this month.  https://t.co/sUsIOxRLuT

The truth is that health insurance costs are about to DOUBLE for millions of Americans. That’s a HUGE issue. It doesn’t have to be this way. Democrats have a plan to keep these costs down. Republicans need to get on board. https://t.co/G2HyuoKU9U

Open enrollment for ACA marketplace plans starts today. Millions of people are about to realize (if they haven't already) that their premiums are going to cost WAY more in 2026 because Republicans refuse to renew critical tax credits. This is a crisis. https://t.co/f29YtEx24N

Republicans would rather stop SNAP than pass a bill that allows millions of people to afford health care and reopens the government. Democrats are fighting for your health, your food, your dignity, and your rights. Republicans want to take it all away. We deserve better.

Over 130 Head Start programs serving about 60,000 children will close on November 1st because of insufficient funding. Children will lose access to care, early learning, nutrition, and stability – all because Republicans in Congress are too proud to negotiate with Democrats.

A timely reminder that every dollar in SNAP benefits spent generates about $1.50 in economic activity. So when Trump fails to use USDA’s contingency dollars to keep SNAP benefits going, 40 million Americans will go hungry AND our economy will lose out on billions in activity.
