60,000 people – who were facing homelessness, domestic violence, or human trafficking – will lose their housing support early because rent is so expensive that government programs can’t keep up. We need a massive reimagining of our housing and social safety net programs.
Nearly 60,000 people in the United States will lose their federal housing assistance years before they anticipated. The Emergency Housing Vouchers program was supposed to last through 2030, but funding will probably run out sometime next year.
