Proud to represent San Diego and a new generation of leaders in Congress.
Joined January 2021
On Veterans Day, we recognize the incredible service and sacrifices made by our veterans. I’m so proud to represent San Diego’s veteran community and I’ll keep fighting in Congress to make sure veterans have the support and resources they’ve earned and deserve.

Happy birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps. Marines have played a crucial role in defending our country for 250 years and are an integral part of our San Diego community. Thank you and your families for your service and sacrifice. Semper Fi.

Trump can deny it all he wants, but that doesn’t change the reality of long lines at food banks because people can’t afford to put food on the table.
Trump: Our energy costs are way down. Our groceries are way down. Everything is way down. And the press does not report it… Thanksgiving meals 25% down. So I don't want to hear about the affordability.

I’m so proud of how our San Diego community has come together during these difficult times – but it shouldn’t have to be this way. We should have affordable health care, groceries, housing, and a government that actually works. https://t.co/WboQNqsXe0

But we shouldn’t forget that we are in this place to begin with because Republicans have refused to address the health care crisis at all, and are literally fighting in the courts to NOT feed hungry Americans. They’re not the heroes here.

Both Senate Democrats and Republicans have failed in their responsibility to address the health care crisis and rein in a dangerous president who consistently ignores Congress’s authority and the rule of law. This “deal” is offensive to the American people and I won’t support it.

Records Donald Trump has broken: - Only president impeached twice - Worst year for layoffs since 2009 - Longest government shutdown in history Call it the Trump effect, I guess.

We’ve been warning about widespread travel delays since Republicans shut the government down 38 days ago. Democrats have been demanding meetings to negotiate and reopen the government and Republicans have repeatedly refused. We can’t go on like this. https://t.co/YyCOjGJTSX

Starting yet another forever war won’t solve violence in Nigeria; in fact, it’s likely to escalate violence further. We had diplomacy, development, and conflict-prevention tools that could’ve addressed root causes, but Donald Trump slashed them. https://t.co/KKmmhqmOz7

American forces are unlikely to be able to end a decades-long insurgency in Africa’s most populous country, despite President Trump’s order, officials said.

They’re fighting so hard NOT to feed 42 million hungry Americans.

I joined @FeedingSanDiego to distribute food in Sorrento Valley to our neighbors who are struggling to put food on the table — all because Republicans have refused to reopen the government. Thank you to everyone who is stepping up for our community right now.

I was proud to join Teamsters Local 542 for Veterans Appreciation Day. Working people keep our country running and it’s our veterans who have kept us safe. I'm so grateful for their service to our country and our community.

I will always be grateful that I learned how to lead in Congress with fortitude, poise, and grit from Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. She is the most accomplished Speaker of our generation and many young girls including me knew that we could be a leader because of her.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who made history as the nation’s first female speaker of the House and twice served in that top job, will not seek re-election to Congress in 2026. The powerful California Democrat, now 85, led her party in the House for two decades — from 2002 to 2022. Her

I joined @SDFoodBank for an emergency food distribution for federal workers, military families, and everyone needing some extra help right now. It shouldn’t take a court order to force the Trump Administration to do the right thing and even partially fund SNAP.
