I asked my husband to send me a dress he found attractive and received this
These are the kind of dresses that are actually attractive to men. Because they accentuate the hip to waist ratio, while being classy and elegant. They are just sexy enough to be attractive and flattering, but not crass or cheap looking.

@HannahPosted I'm just grateful that my friends are ok with hearing a white person complain or I would have no friends.

@esjesjesj I lived in Japan for 3 years after college and while I enjoyed living there and absolutely loved the vast majority of the people I met, I was sexually assaulted multiple times, including being groped, forcibly kissed and a dude masturbating onto my bicycle.

@amylouisev Doing some nice things for your kids to make them happy is actually part of being a good parent

@oneunderscore__ I feel so much for those parents. The boy's father even takes pains to say this was a terrible accident, not some intentional murder. That poor family.

@generalslug It is cruel and reprehensible that we have decided, as a society, that we would rather fight over kids being able to bring phones into a school to send goodbye texts to their parents rather than meaningfully regulating firearms.

@ChasidyYasmine This is actually a very bad policy on your company's part. Some people don't care one way or another, sure, but some people rightfully find it deeply offensive to be forced to celebrate a holiday they don't observe!.

@adamtotscomix Coding love and kindness and empathetic caring friendships as strictly feminine things is the worst trick the patriarchy played on men.

@esjesjesj Not even upset anymore, just pointing out that Japan is not some kind of sexual safety Shangri La - gun crime is very low, but women are absolutely treated like crap and even some of the better men I knew over there had some fucked up cultural notions about women.

@Lucas_King_xoxo I think social media is like alcohol. It removes inhibitions but it doesn't change who you are. A lot of people have a thin veneer of civility slapped over their shitty ass personalities because they have to look people in the eye IRL and/or might get punched for talking shit.

@danlehnermusic My take is that weddings are parties you host to celebrate two specific people so you should try to make sure your guests are comfortable and having fun. But even as someone who does drink, why does that HAVE to include alcohol?.

@cgduckworth It absolutely makes sense! I like her vibe more than her actual songs (they're fine, just not to my taste). She's a literal cutie patootie with an edge.

@clhubes If you want a palate cleanser, my father once saw a male calico cat and was SO STRUCK by this that he would -and still does - bring it up randomly in unrelated conversations. His opening salvo is that saw the calico cat and thought it was a girl, then he saw its testicles.

@IAmSophiaNelson The way we treated Islamic and Muslim folks after 9/11 was awful and we see echos of that today. We also used 9/11 as a pretext to invade a sovereign nation so IDK IDK.

@a_h_reaume People policing who belongs at Pride are engaging in the same behavior and mind set as homophobes 🤷 I get that some of it is born of trauma, but they don't need to be concerned about other folks' intimate lives and loves.

@madisontayt_ As a parent and certified tantrum fielder, yes. I make sure my kids are dressed appropriately for the weather but matching or wearing something specific is just not a concern 99.9% of the time. Also filming a child's tantrum and displaying it to strangers is evil.

@clhubes "beat your children into professing love for you" is one of the more unhinged parenting takes I've ever seen. I don't like to performatively overact online, but the way she describes her kid reacting after she spanked her is honestly kind of chilling to me.

@newestpassenger @danlehnermusic It's not weird and problematic that adults like to drink at a party, it's weird and problematic that they can't go to one party that doesn't have alcohol without complaining. You gotta feed people and give them things they CAN drink for basic comfort. Alcohol isn't necessary.

@JacobWebsite trans folks are such a minority of the population and hurt no one by simply existing: to care about what someone else does with their body you need to be a frothing asshole who buys into conspiracy theories about grooming children by showing them different kinds of people.

@generalslug Babies can be a lot and dogs can be well behaved but babies are humans and dogs are not! That's the end of it for me. And I like dogs quite a lot! Still, not human.

@minervas_muse I truly think the narrative that's pushed is meant to discourage organization. It also plays in nicely with the myth of American exceptionalism - great individuals just deciding on their own to do great things (I do think she was great btw, just mean not an individual effort).
