a lot of them wouldn't, just like the big people in tech and other industries hog their stuff. I hope she never changes. we really need more like her across every industry, her openness and her ingenuity.

Honestly this is an incredibly perceptive strategy — a legend embracing what makes fashion great (beauty, collaboration, the art-making process) and letting everyone in on the fun. I don't know if her contemporaries would do the same.

I would say most makeup artists do actually share their techniques and do courses / classes, so I don’t agree with this take at all. Kevyn Aucoin wrote multiple books??
