The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security feels called to point out that former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s recent remarks at the Israel Hayom Summit on 2 December amount to outright genocide denial. During her remarks, the Secretary correctly noted

I love this trend of screenshotting a reporter’s very professional text that gives you ample time to comment or refute the story with your sarcastic reply (somewhat undercut by the implication earlier in the exchange that you regularly talk to these reporters!) to own them online

Anyone pushing debunked Heritage foundation/Haidt slop about "social media destroying kids mental health" (it's not) should not be weighing in at all on tech policy.

Lawmakers claim new age verification laws are about ‘child safety’ – but, in reality, they expand surveillance and silence dissent.

I agree that antitrust regulation would be great, sure, there are plenty of ways we could hold these tech companies accountable and foster a less profit driven internet. But moral panic BS like NY's SAFE For Kids Act (spoiler: it harms kids) does the opposite of all that.

We could have comprehensive data privacy reform but instead we have people pushing moral panic BS about social media and kids and using it to justify the worst censorship and surveillance laws of our lifetime, it’s infuriating

There is no such thing as “social media addiction” (in fact treating social media as an addiction when it’s not makes it harder for users to moderate use) and the idea that big tech isn’t 10000% on board w the massive surveillance laws ur advocating for is a joke.
In today's column, Ezra Klein argues antimonopoly is not "fit for purpose" as a tool to address the human cost of social media addiction. I worked on child social media legislation in New York, the SAFE for Kids Act, directly targeted to child social media addiction. The

In my book *Enshittification*, I develop the concept of "giant teddybears," a scam that has been transposed from carnival midway games to digital platforms. The EU has just fined Elon Musk $140m for running a giant teddybear scam on Twitter: https://t.co/w3s8XDGQfD 1/

Now Ai companies have a profit motive to deny you healthcare, becoming one more step between doctor and patient. A third-party algorithmic intermediary based on a horrendously manipulated & flawed technology to enrich companies that shouldn't exist in the first place. Super cool.
A new Medicare pilot program is about to launch that will let private companies use AI to review requests for certain medical care — and reward companies when they deny claims.

Googling random filings & making up a story whole cloth is not journalism it’s manufacturing conspiracy theories. I think what’s so dangerous about her content is that she positions it as researched. She actually has good news instincts but she refuses to do an ounce of reporting

This woman does zero actual reporting. She strings together completely circumstantial dates and events then weaves them into a story that confirms viewers beliefs. It’s not journalism. Ppl need to start to learn the difference btw conspiratorial speculation and actual reporting

Hillary Clinton's bad takes on young people & Gaza have got the Always At War team foaming at the mouth
Nanny Hillary says young people don't know why they are criticizing Israel, doubles down on Israel Hayom remarks yet says the news coming from Gaza is "not inaccurate" Me at #DohaForum on Sunday https://t.co/I2fjanG2ee

I think I’m gonna puke. Crockett is in the pocket of corrupt interests like Big Tech/Crypto AND directly complicit in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. With respect, Rep Pressley - wtaf are you talking about?
My sister in service @JasmineForUS is a relentless fighter and a brilliant legal mind. She is exactly the kind of authentic, bold, effective leader this moment demands, the people deserve, and the Senate needs. Let’s go. ✊🏽 https://t.co/X2FWU4cUSg
