What a ridiculous train of thought. I mean back in the day doctors used to prescribe their patients smoking on the grounds of it being beneficial for their health, is he going to suggest we go back to that because views on it were more positive back then?
@GuidoFawkes
The fee paying school bit is incredibly disingenuous on your part. It is now a fee paying school, but he went when it was accessible by 11+ as I understand. His parents then didn’t pay any fees when it became private as the council covered them for students.
@CJaacks27
@FootyAccums
What are you going on about? For the previous 8 seasons before Abramovich purchased Chelsea they finished above spurs in the league 🙃
@Samfr
Alternative idea, let them go bankrupt and buy them for the state on the cheap. Nothing that exists as a monopoly should be privately held be it water or trains
@JimMFelton
This is so thick it’s unreal. He’s comparing life expectancy at birth with your conditional life expectancy given that you’ve lived to today. If you’ve lived to 80 already your life expectancy is about 89 for men and 90 for women.
@theousherwood
As much as I dislike the incumbent the key part of your tweet is “November 29, 2019”. The pandemic has materially changed everything, and could not possibly have been predicted at the time of comment
@SteveBettis1
@KensingtonRoyal
It’s far better to just wash your hands and not use gloves. You for a start have better dexterity, also if you get any spills on your hands you’ll wash them immediately, whereas with gloves your less likely to do so.

I presume you realise that the vast, vast majority of people at the protests were wearing masks right? How many masks did you see in soho yesterday Richard?

The issue is in deciding which frame the ball has left the assisters foot, one frame before and it’s clearly onside, one frame after and it’s clearly off. Leicester have deserved the win today but VAR physically can’t operate to that level of tolerance
@cfc_chad
@FabrizioRomano
He’s got two young kids, has won trophies and has enough money to live out the rest of his life comfortably. If he has any sense he’ll hang his boots up and enjoy the rest of his life.

@CJaacks27
@FootyAccums
Spurs had won 2 league titles to Chelsea’s one, 8 fa cups to Chelsea’s 3 and 3 league cups to Chelsea’s 2. But in the 25 years leading up to Roman owning Chelsea they had similar trophy records. And of course they’ve won as many trophies this century as Chelsea have this month.
@dotbb1
@YouGov
You’ve only just discovered that the people you know aren’t a representative sample of the population at large then? Surprised it’s taken you this long 😂
@linmeitalks
I saw you yesterday on TV and to call you an imbecile is an understatement. Literally the first property you’ve suggested only has 96 years left on its lease and can only be bought for cash. Anyone taking any of your advice is as ridiculous as you are.
@SpeedyShev
@mikegalsworthy
Yup, in an average bad December we have 1000 daily respiratory admissions. Covid admissions are at 2000+ a day and still climbing. Stop trying to justify the situation we’re in.
@TonyM70
@PippaCrerar
1. Back in your day you were mortgaged for tuppence-ha’penny, so higher interest rates were much more affordable. People are now mortgaged for a much larger percentage of their salary, so lower rates now are equivalent to higher rates in the past in affordability terms
@ShelaghFogarty
@jburnmurdoch
A multitude of factors Shelagh, older citizens are more likely to believe in traditional Chinese medicine and thus be distrusting of all vaccines in general. Plus many in Hong Kong didn’t feel the need to get vaccinated as they’d kept covid out for so long 1
@BradWestness
@scott_tobias
Of all the complaints about it this is the least valid. Have you heard of Moore’s law? Computing power has come on a fair bit in 2 decades. It’s like using a machine running windows vista and crying that it doesn’t fully support SSDs, no shit 🥴
@DavidLammy
@davecl42
There’s nothing wrong with requiring a photo ID for people to vote, so long as it becomes possible for citizens to acquire an ID specifically for voting purposes absolutely free of charge from their local council. If it’s passports and driving licences, not everyone has those.
@PoliticalGraham
@Dominic2306
A balance is to be struck clearly. 100% of time in the office is clearly unnecessary in the modern world, 100% WFH likely isn’t healthy for you in other ways. A hybrid model is the way forward, the reality of that means that office working will never return to pre covid levels
@arun_munagala
@grahamb195
There isn’t a debate that ronaldo is/was a better player than Henry, but he spent his peak elsewhere. As a premier league player alone Henry definitely comes out on top
@perrin_edith
@LBCNews
The only tosh around here is the nonsense you’re spouting. A bad December for respiratory admissions sees 1000 daily admissions across the entire uk. Covid admissions are at 3500 currently and going in the wrong direction.
@SebastianEPayne
Isn’t it amazing when I moved from a U.K. number to a Singaporean one my WhatsApps weren’t lost to the mists of time? It’s almost like a feature exists for you to keep your chats or something
@Tony_Diver
It is the fairest way to deal with brexit in the long term. A narrow vote to leave the EU should’ve led to an exiting of the political institutions whilst remaining in the economic and cultural ones. The Conservative party isn’t going to be able to ignore trade gravity forever.
@GuidoFawkes
Reigate Grammar school charges fees now. He entered it via the 11+ system when it wasn’t private, it became private while he had been there for a few years. Surrey council then paid the fees for all the students who were already there. This isn’t up for debate.
@SamCoatesSky
It’s not a challenge for teachers at all. Its a challenge for his government to sort out. Did they expect doctors and nurses to build the nightingale hospitals? Of course not. Stop making it seem like it’s the teachers who should be doing the logistics of this impossible scenario

Yup, hence Jesper Gronkjaer’s goal in 2003/4 against Liverpool is called the billion pound goal, qualifying for the champions league helped with the choice from Roman to go for Chelsea and not Spurs.
@odegaardismagic

Please tell me where I’ve said that Roman Abramovich is a “lovely guy”. Part of the reason he owns Chelsea is because he’s fearful of being killed by putin, which is ironic given that he helped him take power.

@SamCoatesSky
Because they will have presumably been making long term investments based on no longer being able to sell petrol cars in the U.K. from 2030? Businesses need long term stability from governments
@megaxiggg
@AllieHBNews
Just a thought here. Perhaps it should be made more widely known that foreign students in essence subsidise home students. Because what you’re suggesting is a great way of bankrupting the higher education sector
@jburnmurdoch
You mean to people living in the U.K., living in Singapore it’s been obvious that Hong Kong was going to be screwed at some point in the future to me from January onwards when I noticed the poor vaccination rates in the elderly
@AudreyMarks19

I am on my knees begging people to understand you can’t compare raw vote totals between a by-election and a general election. Cope harder.

To be fair looking at both the seat she’s in and current direction of the polls she wasn’t going to get voted out at the next election anyway

No, it started with murder squads called Einsatzgruppen. Learn your history and stop being so unbelievably ignorant as to think that there is even the vaguest comparison to be had here.
@Mr_John_Oxley
On top of that young grads are paying higher rates of tax than their 1975 counterparts and so have even less disposable income. The real issue is that boomers read “you had it easier” which is verifiably true as “you didn’t have to work hard” which is obviously not the case. 1/2

If you think the current Conservative party and Liberal Democrat party are politically aligned in the way they were in 2010 I’d politely suggest you haven’t paid the faintest bit of attention to U.K. politics post the 2015 GE. The LD are now much more Labour aligned.

The biggest mistake was not noting the affect of stereochemistry on drug molecules, there’s two versions of thalidomide, like your left and right hand, mirror images of each other. One works as intended, the other was terrible. Stereochemistry is not ignored anymore.

You mean Spirited away that was hand-drawn? That spirited away? 🥴 Was shrek hand drawn as well? It’s a different style of animation completely ffs. Otherwise let’s bring in Wallace and Gromit eh? That’s animated as well

It’s not about someone getting high ffs. Second hand smoke is going to have all sorts of horrendous chemicals in it. You never wondered why smoking in buildings isn’t a thing anymore?
@Peston
He is not normal. Everyone who has facilitated his rise to the top, (people like yourself included) should be utterly ashamed and unsurprised that this is happening.
@MrDtAFC
As a neutral it wasn’t a great game to watch (felt more like a very tactical chess match with both teams terrified to lose), but that’s the reality when you’re both going to try and win the league title as you are. Chelsea would do it often in big away games under mourinho for eg
@Mickledonions
@jburnmurdoch
Because in Italy people are in family units a lot more than here. And because there’s a time lag to getting the infection and then dying, the lockdown is only 2 weeks old, we should hopefully start to see benefits this week and next

It should be put in legislation that if you defect to another party an automatic by-election is called. Or at the very least a recall petition is allowed to be commenced.

No it’s part of the Recall of MPs act 2015. If you’re suspended for more than 10 days following a standards committee report a recall petition can be started
