There are no words good enough to express the horror of this. The killing of Charlie Kirk is a blow to everything Western civilization stands for: open discourse, robust debate and peaceful dissent. He lived his life by those very principles, no matter the danger it put him in.

So, the responsible minister Stephen Doughty MP just gave the game away in the Commons - there is NO court that can compel the UK to give away Chagos, removing the cornerstone of this government’s case. Despite that, his party is about to railroad it through. Disgraceful.

I genuinely like @LukePollard MP so am so very sorry he’s inherited the Chagos Surrender Treaty mess, giving away British territory, making the UK pay £35 billion for the privilege and trampling over Chagosians. Shameful.
