We've already shown mycelium can grow food and materials at scale. Now we're exploring how these fungal networks process information. Nature's technology - creating abundance in food, materials, and potentially, computation itself.

With @DARPA's support, we're investigating how to harness mycelial networks for computation. Early results suggest these living systems could process information in ways silicon never could - using nature's own information processing architecture.

We're producing these bioelectronic materials in @Ecovative's scaled bioreactor systems. The same technology that grows millions of pounds of mycelium materials annually lets us explore biological computing at meaningful scale.

These mycelium-polymer networks have potential for analog computation and inference that could fundamentally change how we process information. The biological networks operate with remarkably low energy requirements compared to traditional computing.

led by @orkan this research builds on a fascinating discovery: mycelium networks actively transport and integrate conductive biopolymers into their structure. This creates natural conductive pathways through living tissue, suggesting new possibilities for biological computing.

In Dec @DARPA awarded us a grant to explore bioelectronic computing using mycelial networks. We're combining conductive polymers with living fungal tissue to create what could become biological electronics - a literal living circuit.
