No wonder he's accusing Christopher Steele of libel. Everybody should return to his Moscow dealings, kompromat or no kompromat.

I can't imagine what use Owen Jones is to
@guardian
. His columns are dull and his influence seems to be malign. They should find someone else.
@PippaCrerar
Does it matter what ministers say? She could give advice to Labour for free, and I'd be happy to crowdfund her mortgage. Case must be frantic about what she knows, given the info from the Selden book. What a waste of space he is, which presumably is why Johnson liked him.

I met a lovely doctor in Gaza in 1990, who looked after children in the hospital there. He was also a leading Hamas spokesman, whose colleagues introduced me to the teenagers they were grooming for suicide bombings, balaclavas and all. Things are not always what they seem.
@Peter_Shilton
We're you once a footballer? If so I might forgive this rant. Brexit isn't something that gets ''stopped', it's a huge, really complicated change to Britain's relationship TO THE WHOLE WORLD. If Parliamentarians, not to mention the rest of us, want. scrutiny. why not?
@campbellclaret
Anyone who heard Evan Davis's
@BBC
interview with the Sunak's Chief Secretary to the Treasury on PM yesterday will know that these Conservatives can't be trusted with our money.
@caitlinmoran
It's nonsense, and always was. We should renationalise water now. With no compensation. (They've had their dividends, by loading themselves with debt to pay for the appalling service they've given us.)
@JuliaHB1
That's clearly what B. Johnson, D. Davis, D. Raab, have clearly learnt. It was all quite too much hard work for them, poor wimps. Largely because they were peddling a preposterous vision.
#JustSaying
@BBCNewsnight
It's pretty weird that our govt. puts an Aussie EX-minister (his party fell last year), rather than one of their own to defend their policy. Shows they've lost their bottle. Despicable, anyway.
@elizamondegreen
If people are doing this, they don't understand the past. Eleanor of Aquitaine a man? Hildegarde of Bingen a man? Boudicca a man? They are just imposing modern conditions on the past.
@annemcelvoy
@NadineDorries
No. Her complaints are absurd. She is an MP and has been for decades. To play this classwar card is worse than stupid. She was a player, and she lost. She made wrong choices, and wrong friends. No whingeing now!

Worse than that. It shows they have some ditzy idea that they are being even handed. Total lack of editorial confidence, no doubt driven by too much concentration on internet-clicks.

Do look at
@DalrympleWill

But was it really Philip's tomb? I'd like to think so, but the controversy is endless. Much better to contemplate the drawing/artistry of the Rape of Persephone, also in Vergina. (Really bad photos!)
@Remroum
@DannyBate4
That may be true, but if things are to get better, Hamas has to stop grandstanding and start thinking about what's best for the people of Gaza and the West Bank. And their role as Irani catspaws, too.
@nfergus
Don't see the equivalence. Few in Egypt supported the British (most of those who might have - Greeks, Jews, Armenians, etc - had already left). Taiwanese are clear they don't want Xi. Nor do Japanese, Philippines, Vietnamese, etc. Armed bluster won't work if people stand firm.
@andrew_lilico
This is absurd. The Brexiters' scenario has collapsed under its own contradictions. And now the rest of us are supposed to accept the result of their ridiculous posturing. They had two years to make it work, and they couldn't. Time for them to shuffle off.
@MiddleEastEye
@DalrympleWill
Awful idea, just promoted to annoy Muslims. What bollocks Palestinians have to put up with. The Holocaust should be recognized by all, but doesn't justify this nonsense from a nasty minority.

Weirdly he reminds me of those med magnates who opposed the King, de Montfort, Thos. of Lancs, Bolingbroke. Driven by personal aggro, but defining real liberties in the process. Cf EPT on the law in Whigs and Hunters.
@LouisatheLast
No-one in this 'fight' is 'anti - Trans'. And it is a fight, made worse by intransigent bollocks on all sides, when at root it's just a question of kindness and understanding.

Did anyone think he was? Famously dependent on help from disaffected victims of Aztec horribilism. There's a similar map of William the Conqueror's capture of England. He circled London ravaging the Home Counties. Deal done not at Hastings but Berkhamstedm

I think they were both (badly) trying to balance Freedom of Speech arguments and harassment law. They should have said that calling for genocide is abhorrent but not illegal. Their (shocking) failure was not to condemn such talk.

Claudia Webbe, once a really dreadful councillor at

, now crashes on idiotically. We were all taught about the 'scramble for Africa'. As ever, she wasn't listening.

Why two republicans commenting on this show, esp the awful radio host, who was just a propagandist? Surely you can find people who will answer a question.

Heads in the sand, then! Never seen a quango quite so oblivious of public opinion, and worse, dismissive of the implications of a court ruling. THE DECISION TO PROCEED WAS ILLEGAL! So you should stop EVERYTHING now!
@DrProudman
No, history isn't 'being rewritten'. It's happening. Right here and now and on TV. People are complex. Check out
@MongersPodcast
for a sample of how complex history can be. And as ever don't believe everything you hear implicitly.
This 'no military help' policy of the West is unsustainable now. This is aggression which threatens the whole of Europe. Putin's apparent threats about nuclear war are pointless: they apply to him too and he won't go there. We used to be cool about this. What's happened?
@VictoriaCoren
Clearly a glorious father, evident not just from your testimony, but from his writing. I miss him too, and revere his jokes, and even more, the effortless (hah!) style...😍
@richardtgarland
Not 'controlling', dunderhead. Negotiating. As well they might, after the British Brexit fiasco, full of sound and fury but no clarity.
@suzanne_moore
Can't imagine what Kirsty McColl would have made of this. But then BB was always so right-on that he probably thinks he's being persecuted.
@katherineschof8
At a prep school in early 1960s, I remember a beating on the bottom with a Jokari (!) bat about twice a term. (Afterwards the HM pretended to 'comfort' you. Ugh!) Casual slaps quite frequent. I once fought back and punched Mr Potter on the nose. Did me no good but I felt great.
@arthistorynews
@jamesjohnson252
Exactly. The government and its friends have spent years confusing the public about 'asylum-seekers' and 'illegal immigrants' when the two are NOT the same. Then they made it impossible to apply for asylum without coming here. By boat if necessary. Awful, disgraceful, hateful.
@NewStatesman
@mfletchertimes
It's also time for Brexiters to start respecting Remainers' arguments and feelings rather than the usual tabloid contempt.
@campbellclaret
@vicderbyshire
Not unfair to say that to Victoria. She controls the platform, and represents the BBC. In another world she might have been able to agree with him a little, and sort it out on air. But we don't live in that world, sadly.
I think
@bbcquestiontime
needs a long hard think about what it does, and probably cease. We need debate; but not this one, and particularly not one run by tv profiteers who have milked the same contract for years, with minimal competition.
#riggedcontract
I see BBC Question Time have yet another GB News presenter on the panel tonight.
Why does this new 'news' organisation get such regular spots on the BBCQT panel?

I remember you being the right answer (and more or less the only answer) when St Hilda's alumnae trashed everyone a few years ago. Margot sends her love!
@janexrj
@arthistorynews
Yes, but not often. And at least if that happens you know everyone has been represented faithfully. Unlike this appalling mess in which, as a crisis looms, leading politicians are pleading with the most well-off people for support. What good policies can come out of that?
@janemerrick23
Looks like London Fields to me. I was there this afternoon and EVERYONE was distanced. Victoria Park, which is much bigger, has been closed for a week.
I spent five years of my life writing about the steady demise of the Christians of the Middle East for my book, From the Holy Mountain. One chapter deals with the story of the Palestinian Christians
@trevorw1953
@DalrympleWill
You just have to read the text to see that nothing was said about a Jewish state, and rights of Arabs/the existing population were protected. There were already Jews living in Palestine, not just in the Jewish quarter in Jerusalem but in eg Safed/Zfat for centuries.
@PCollinsTimes
I voted against him in every election since I moved to Islington in 1986. Wrong and awful then. Still wrong and awful. Labour ruined as a result.

Not about freedom of the press. Press is as free as it ever was. It's just that some of newspapers customers [eg PAPERCHASE] are uncomfortable with some of the lines the press feeds the readers, and the newspapers don't like the readers finding out.
@afneil
You seem to rejoice in Biden bad news. Why? Is it your employers? Do you really think Trump or De Santos (or whichever Republican you choose) will do good for America. If so, front up and tell us why, in fifty words.
@FinancialTimes
Yes. One-off Wealth Tax to stabilise pandemic. Equalize Corporation, Dividend and Income tax. Sales tax on Internet deliveries. Raise minimum wage. [Rejoin single market.]
@VictoriaPeckham
You're not old enough to remember! Cigarettes and smoke were everywhere. Every time B had an important conversation there would have been smoke. That's what you did. You lit up. Then you spoke
@drchrisnewton
But who knows how things might have gone if Britain had been there to support the Poles and Baltics etc in Brussels? The Brexit process has ruined our position in Europe. So we make (important but still) gestures in Ukraine, but we have no leverage in Europe as a whole.
@trussliz
@DalrympleWill
It will be less difficult to achieve if Hamas lose this, as they well might. How long will Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank out up with these murderous losers? They may make victims feel like winners, but they are the real log in the road.
@Dominic2306
What on earth made you think that your bile helps? You lie, you rant, you care nothing for decency. Time to go to ground for ever in Barna d Castle. Eeeurgh!
