If this is an accurate account of what's happened today then it's a totally unacceptable attack on free speech by the @metpoliceuk. It is NOT a crime to hold that sign. Gender dysphoria is treated as a mental health condition by the NHS. I hope @SpeechUnion are on the case.
🚨IMPORTANT 🚨 . Today in Central London I attempted to cover the pride parade and gather some interviews. I bumped into @MontgomeryToms who was wearing a sign saying ‘🏳️⚧️=mental illness’ he was harassed by attendees and officers before being ARRESTED. He was told to remove.

There are a number of events taking place in London this weekend. Anyone attending should be aware that officers policing these will act where criminal offences, including those related to support of proscribed groups or organisations, are committed.
