Starting today on @TheRestHistory, a 5 part investigation into the murders and the myth of JACK THE RIPPER. Why do his terrible crimes continue to haunt London? What was the state of the East End in 1888? And who was Polly Nichols, his first victim? https://t.co/UUiTlhOH1z

A special thanks too - the Test results notwithstanding - for the wonderfully generous welcome from so many people involved in Australian cricket. I have been spoiled beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you so, so much! (Though obvs I still wish England had done better…)

And so we bid a very fond farewell to Australia. What a wonderful time we have had! Huge thanks to everyone who came to our shows, to all our Australian listeners, and to everyone who has made us feel so incredibly welcome in this beautiful, glorious country.

My first experience of watching overseas cricket: two crushing & demoralising defeats for England. However - unfashionably, madly, I think England are still not totally out of this. There have been times where they have really shown what they are capable of. Adelaide or bust.

Typically, the only one I went to see was the one they lost
This is the first time since December 1919 that Aston Villa have won nine top-flight matches in a 10-game spell. #AVFC

Yesterday at the Gabba - not all bad
What a treat! Honoured to meet @holland_tom in the @abcsport commentary box yesterday. A lovely man. History and cricket, nothing better! ❤️

Meanwhile, in Brisbane, I weigh up whether to plunge myself back into misery by going to the Gabba, or to go and see a platypus
