@ColinBrowning14
Was the vote in the Netherlands? They can do what they like to third country nationals. Its called sovereignty. You may have heard of it.
Brexiters:
1. Stole my kids EU birthright
2. Stole my professional qualifications in 27 countries
3. Have reduced international value of my pension
4. Have made everything more expensive
5. Have made our country a laughing stock
Tell me again why I should come together with them?
Well I have just had 2 days in Germany. That was humiliating and depressing. Pretty much everyone I met from a random guy in a lift to my colleagues in the meetings, on finding out I was English said "Brexit" and laughed.
The real "anti growth coalition" that has severely damaged our economy:
The Bruges Group
The ERG
The Brexit Party
UKIP
The Tory Party
The Taxpayers Alliance
The IEA
The Daily Mail
The Daily Telegraph
The Daily Express
So if you have a family holiday in the EU it will cost £28 for a familiy of 4 for the travel registration. With the EHIC card gone travel insurance will be £15 a more or so. Thats £88 more. Most families dont pay this much annually towards our current EU contribution.
Can someone remind me what was so terrible about the UK of 2015 that led us to put everything in jeopardy and elect a government of incompetent anarchists? Was it really so terrible?
I worked for 30 years on capital investment projects for a large US company and can assure everyone that the retention of windfall profits or not plays no part in corporate investment decisions. A collapsing domestic economy in the UK will however will be a big deterrent.
"When she said... she was against windfall taxes, did she mean it?" Labour leader Keir Starmer asks PM Liz Truss
"I believe it is the wrong thing to be putting companies off investing in the UK" Truss says, adding “I am against a windfall tax"

Sunak had time to go to the test match this week but hasn't read the privileges committee report. The disrespect these Tories have for parliament and voters is off the scale.
🚨 | BREAKING: Chris Bryant slams Rishi Sunak over the Privileges Committee report
Bryant: "Do you think the MPs should apologise?"
Sunak: "I haven't gone through the report yet"
B: "You haven't... read the report?"
S: "Not from cover to cover"
B: "It's 3 pages long..."
@MattHancock
"Only 36 deaths" Bully for you. That is around 1000 relatives and close friends left bereft. New Zealand has no cases and no deaths. You have failed us catastrophically. Anyone with honour or integrity would resign.
People have got the message about Chlorinated Chicken but they dont understand:
1. There will be no labelling of country of origin so you cannot tell what it has been incoporated in.
2. It is all industrial US food that will be allowed in. GM wheat and Soya. Hormone treated beef.
2016: A large percentage of pensioners vote for Brexit hoping to to kick out young EU27 workers from the UK
2022: The Tories tell pensioners they have to go back to work to fill the jobs the EU folk left.
@TomTugendhat
You can try all you like to shut down debate, but the British people have had enough of being told we can't change our minds by the very people who lied incontinently 6 years ago. Brexit is an unmitigated disaster. No international deal will ever be totally controlled by the UK.
@Haggis_UK
Apparently until 4 years ago when asylum seekers started to use small boats there were no illegal drugs in the UK. Not many people know that.
I had a colleague at work a little bit older than me who always limped. He caught Polio as a child. If you don't know anyone like that:
ITS BECAUSE YOU AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW WERE VACCINATED.
(Sorry for shouting).
The UK is about to learn a very hard lesson. Allowing fascists to win a national poll is a disaster. Allowing fascists to form a government is an even bigger disaster. Having a cozy medieval constitution which is no defence against autocrats and fascists is a catastrophe.
@bbcnickrobinson
@trussliz
Why not have Starmer or Davey on instead? When these Tories shirk accountability the penalty should be an opportunity for the others.
@grantshapps
When the first person is killed by an unqualified HGV driver we should set up a crowd funder to bring a private prosecution of manslaughter against Shapps. He knows people will die and be seriously injured as a result of this policy.
As a manager in the chemical industry if I put a worker in harms way without the proper PPE because of a failure of corporare policy and the worker dies, the HSE will prosecute my company for corporate manslaughter. Why does this not apply to the NHS?
Sadly my eye condition has worsened and I cannot se ar all well now. I can just about see to type this but I can't read tweets very well. I may be finally signing off today. If so thanks to all of my followers for putting up with my nonsense over the last 7 years.
@RishiSunak
Almost all of EU regulation was inspired by and pushed for by the UK to give us a level competitive playing field. This is going to be a total waste of money and resources. Taxpayers money being wasted to indulge bigots.
@Bob4Beckenham
You voted down a Lords amendment which would have ended these sewage spills. After 12 years of failure no one trusts your achievable ways. These spills are illegal in the EU. The truth is that your precious Brexit caused this and you have to let the water companies off the hook.
Has everyone really had their fill of the plastic patriots like Tim Martin, Mike Ashley, Richard Branson and Nigel Farage now? When the nation has its backs to the wall they are not with us. They are just out for themselves.
HMG are throwing comoensation at fisherfolk and others because of their Brexit embarrassment. My professional qualifications have been cancelled in 27 countries. When do I get my compensation for that?
25% of voters are pro hard Brexit
25% of voters are anti net zero
25% of voters hate restrictions on cars
25% of voters are anti woke
Sunak thinks he can win by appealing to all these different groups.
Problem: it's actually all the same people.
@BBCNewsPR
@OborneTweets
It wasn't just shortened. Video and audio were substituted from a different part of the programme to give a totally different impression. You broadvast fake news and now you lie about it.
@LeaveHQ
Who do you think wants to read this? An admission you have had your head up your backsides for 5 years is very interesting, but Remainers knew all of this from the start and the true Brexity believers still have their fingers in their ears.
For anyone who is confused:
Germans who opposed Hitler in 1939 were Patriots.
Germans who backed the Nazis were Nationalists.
Can you see the difference now?
If the BBC or ITV offered Starmer the opportunity to present a prime time show in by-election week the howls of rage from the Right would be heard on the surface of Mars. Just because GBNews has a tiny audience doesnt make this OK
@Ofcom
Tomorrow night at 8pm Rishi Sunak will be presenting GB News.
He should be fired for such a blatant disregard for standing of his Public Office.
RT if he needs to go.
@ProfTimBale
You see, I was actually out there trading with the world driving our exports to Asia, Africa, India and the middle East 40 years in my 20's when IDS was sodding about inventing his fake CV. The EU was never any handicap of any kind. EU standards have only been a massive plus.
So all the Germans have been sporting and classy about England's win. From the German UK ambassador to Jürgen Klinsmann. Contrast various UK journalists and political figures who have been boorish and unpleasant. There is nothing that demonstrates an inferiority complex more.
5 years ago when I started to attack the
@bbcnews
for their blatant pro Brexit bias I got a lot of pushback in Twitter. Maybe 2 tweets in support of the Beeb to every one against. Today my timeline is a continuous thread of complaints about the dreadful stare of BBC journalism.
@imranahmadkhan
I am deeply insulted and shocked along with millions if Britons that our Prime Minister continues to insult the nations intelligence with this outrageous "Australia deal" gaslighting. Who the hell do you think you are to treat voters with such total contempt?
@mikegalsworthy
The Farmers never got a good deal out of Westminster before the EU. They then spent 40 years basking in the benefits won by the militancy of French farmers. Many of them then voted to throw themselves on the tender mercies of the Tories. I will never understand it.
@trussliz
You have no mandate. You didnt even get the votes of a majority of Tory members. You need to put your programme to the electorate in a General Election.
@LauraJedeed
Farage is a fascist. None if this should come as any surprise. The BBC people who promoted him relentlessly should hang their heads in shame.
@bbclaurak
Perhaps as a "journalist" you should find out why they are protesting. They are different folks to those in Rotheram, but the booing is remarkably similar.
@DAaronovitch
I see very little evidence that "Britain is better than this". We have to all intents and purposes a goverment that is a cross between the BNP and UKIP. People don't seem particularly bothered about it. I think the UK is in serious moral, economic and social decline.
@grantshapps
If you dont want to do your job, there are other people far better qualified waiting to do it. Why don't you go back to conning people out of their hard earned cash on the internet? It's the only thing you were ever good at wasn't it?
@GregHands
@ard
@annettedittert
The UK print media has vilified Macron and Merkel relentlessly for the last 4 years. Your hypocrisy is ludicrous. The whole world is taking the piss out of Johnson and Cummings because they have made themselves a laughing stock with schoolboy "dog ate my homework" lies.
So:
Farage lies about the main reason his bank account was closed.
CEO of NatWest tries to set the record straight via the BBC
Farage changes tack and accuses CEO of breach of confidentiality
CEO is forced to resign by the Tories.
It's Torykip now.
@Anna_Soubry
@alan_matts
@SkyNews
The Tories have played this "new PM, new government" game 3 times now. The media play along with it. The reality is it's all the same people making all the same mistakes over and over again.
Alcohol was pretty much banned from the corporate workplace in the 90's in the UK. Can anyone explain how in 2021 it is still commonplace and acceptable to have drinks parties actually in govt. offices? Is it still 1975 for Whitehall?
I'm baffled why the flag waving patriots can't see that the UK together with France and Germany, through the EU, is part of a major economic power equal to the US and China. Outside the EU the UK will be a second tier country with little or no influence. Why is this good?
@christopherhope
Same reason they say the risk of getting cancer instead of the opportunity of getting cancer, the risk of bankruptcy instead if the opportunity of bankruptcy, the risk of falling off a tall building not the opportunity of falling off a tall building.
The reason the Brexit lies were easily accepted is that the UK public simply did not understand that over 40 years our economy had become a fully integrated part of the EU economy. Leaving is like trying to extract the egg yolk from an omlette.
@Conservatives
Sunak wants you to forget it but he backed the appalling Boris Johnson who:
* Illegally proroged parliament
* Met with KGB spies
* Killed tens of thousands with his herd immunity policy
* Lied in the HoC about partygate
We can't trust Tories about anything.
@BBCPolitics
That was a bare faced lie and yet you repeat it without comment. The Astra Zeneca vaccine was almost entirely developed in state funded university labs How do you justify misleading the public in this way?
There is a Brexit compromise on the table. It’s the agreement that emerged from the cross-party talks and it delivers on Labour’s tests for protecting jobs & livelihoods.
The PM should put it before Parliament.
Compromise is not a dirty word, it's the lifeblood of democracy.
The chaos we are now seeing is the inevitable consequence of the Brexiters total failure to accept that the UK is a fully integrated part of the EU economy. It is not 1973. 45 years of economic cooperation and development can only be abandoned with severe pain.
@Peston
@BorisJohnson
No I havent been missing him. He should have resigned when he broke lockdown. It is beyond disgraceful that he has been allowed to continue smashing up our institutions.
Lord Geidt is about to destroy his reputation to protect the worst Prime Minister in the country's history. Johnson wil be gone within months but Geidt's humiliation will last a lifetime.
@BethRigby
The whole point of an investigation is to gather the evidence. The Met Police were present at the premises during the entire period. This is an entirely political decision by a police force which has been corrupted and politicised. Shocking.
@RishiSunak
Because the price is so high even with your so called cut you will take an extra 1p a litre in revenue more than you did 3 months ago. This is just gaslightIng.
@ukhomeoffice
The vile hate speech which Braverman routinely uses smearing asylum seekers as criminals and talking about invasions would be unacceptable from anyone in public life let alone the Home Secretary. Such language is dangerous and has led to violence. She must resign.
What many forget is that the EU offered the UK an unconditional 12 month extension to the transition period so we could cope with covid without the distraction of Brexit. Brexit was the Tories priority, so the offer was turned down. Much of the mess can be put down to this.
🔥Counsel for Covid Inquiry: "The Pandemic hit the UK just as it was leaving the EU [which] required an enormous amount of planning, patricularly a no-deal exit. It is clear that [this] crowded out and prevented some, or perhaps a majority, of improvements to preparedness." ~AA

No country exclusively uses imperial units in engineering and science. Americans do in Engineering and then always have to convert to work with others . It's a massive pain in the backside.
@BBCPolitics
@bbclaurak
No. The government is asking firms not to trade with Russia. Sunak's wife's firm is still trading with Russia. It is not criticism, it's a question about hypocrisy.
@Keir_Starmer
I hope you will make sure the Durham Police follow up on the complaints made by local people about the actions of this man. Childcare has nothing to do with it. If the stories of numerous witnesses are correct, he allegedly broke lockdown several times for his own convenience.
@Nigel_Farage
Sad little England, retreating from global standards and going backwards trying to reinvent a past that never existed. Pretty soon this country is going to discover that the world does not owe us a living and mindless xenophobia and isolationism has only one outcome. Poverty.
If Farage said "we will all be worse off"
If Davis said "we will have to pay £40 billion"
If Fox said "The US is not a friendly trade partner"
If Boris said " There will be no extra money for NHS"
If Gove said "No change to net immigration"
Would the EU ref result be different?
The most striking thing about

you got a massive pushback along the lines of " if they are upsetting both sides they are getting it right"
Today almost nobody will defend them. They are in deep trouble.
I spent 40 years competing on major export projects against the Germans and and the French and do you know what? No client ever gave us any browny points in the bid evaluation for the quality of our Royal Yacht. This is the biggest load of horseshit I have ever heard.
If we are going on trade missions it’s a good idea to have a £200m Royal Yacht says business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng who voted against free school meals for children
Welcome to Boris Johnson’s “golden age”
@RhonddaBryant
There is no chance that GB News will ever be self financing. As such it is effectively paid for right wing political TV advertising and is illegal.
@ofcom
should never have given them a broadcasting licence.
@Edwina_Currie
People choose to be in government. If they run away from the first crisis that comes along because it's all too hard and difficult, then frankly they should get out of the way and let someone else have a go. " Sensible steps" will not save thousands of businesses or our economy.
I have never been able to vote for a parliamentary candidate of my choosing that had any chance to win under FPTP. I have lived in 4 constituencies and have been voting for 45 years. Dale wants me to weep for those who voted once in an advisory poll and are not happy?
“There are people who voted for the first time in the 2016 referendum because they thought their vote would actually count for something”
@IainDale
thinks the way MPs have reacted to the 2016 EU referendum will permanently put people off voting
#bbcqt
@JasonGroves1
If Easyjet can make me go to Gatwick at 5am I am quite happy to go to Epsom at 10 pm. The bottom line is they dont have enough vaccine so extending hours is pointless.
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg
Millions of parents and grandparents of all political persuasions separated from their families because they respected the rules are spitting feathers this morning. If you think they are politically motivated, you are probably in for a nasty surprise.
@guyverhofstadt
There never was real informed consent to leave the EU. The whole thing was a massive con. All parties have collaborated in a cover up. They dare not admit how our democracy has been corrupted.
@SkyNews
They are not "counter protestors". There is no other demonstration. They are thugs, many of whom have gone there for only one purpose; to fight with the Police. Why are you lying to people?
@JDBakewell
There is little doubt that this was a major driving force for the kleptocrats backing Brexit. London is the money laundering capital of the world.
@MPSWestminster
So if anyone else reports a housebreaking at 1am you will turn up with 7 vans full of riot police? Pull the other one it's got bells on.
In a way
@Andrew_Adonis
has really helped Remain. He has cleared the decks and made it absolutely clear that a vote for Labour is a vote for Brexit. Surely there can be no one in any doubt about this now. Remainers in mainland UK should vote Lib Dem/Green/ SNP/ Plaid/ CHUK.
So the right wing media are not looking for who to give credit to for Brexit anymore, they are looking to dish out blame. They are looking for who to blame for something they lied and shouted about for over 20 years. They need look no further than their own newsrooms.
So Brexists. Your marvellous bid for "Sovereignty" leaves us now with 2 choices:
A colony of the EU
Or
A colony the USA
Or we could remain a sovereign independent power and Remain at the EU top table? Remember that? Not so bad was it?
@GregHands
The British people dont like fascism. Repressive anti democratic authoritatian laws are no part of our culture. If you want to persist with this crap, call an election and get a mandate.
@trussliz
There is no evidence that your tax cuts will generate growth at all. The resulting hike in interest rates will reduce growth significantly. It's actually a plan for a severe recession. Then if course you can reinstate the severe austerity that was always the real intention.
