As if things could not get worse for our Prime Minister, here’s the crowd chanting “Stand up if you hate Boris” at the 2022 Darts World Championship at Alexandra Palace in London tonight.
BREAKING Nigel Farage has now made a statement to Northumbria Police and told them that he will press charges for assault against the man who threw milkshake over him.
Politics is crazy right now. One Tory MP just told me: "We are on the cusp of having Andy Burnham carried shoulder-high through the streets of Manchester.
"He has demonstrated courage and principle, hope and determination and a spirit that the British people can be proud of."🤷♂️
💥Big 48 hours for Boris Johnson next week in the House of Commons ...
Tuesday: Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle is expected to allow vote of MPs on an investigation into whether Boris Johnson misled the House of Commons over the extent of lockdown parties in Downing St 1/3
EXCLUSIVE
The Brexit Party is to be relaunched as an anti-lockdown party called Reform UK, in a move which could alarm Conservative MPs jittery about Covid-19 policy.
Plans to change the name of the Brexit Party to Reform UK were submitted to the Electoral Commission last week.
🥂** Huge excitement in the Hope household tonight and congratulations to my wife Sarah who has been awarded an MBE in tomorrow’s New Year’s Honours for her work with child amputees and road crash victims in London. ** 🥂
I have been following Farage for four days for the
@Telegraph
and he has barely mentioned immigration - certainly not “spending his entire time attacking immigrants”. He talks about delivering on a democratic vote though - A LOT.
Corbyn: "Nigel Farage has spent his entire campaign attacking immigrants". Where?! This is a literal, outright lie – and will come as a shock to
@brexitparty_uk
candidates who are themselves immigrants. Total, outright, 100% lie

Attention train travellers!
If you see an obviously disabled person standing all the way on a train journey from London please can you offer them a seat?
Because none of you did for my amputee daughter on a
@TLRailUK
train tonight and she is very tired.
NEW Senior Tory MP - not one or the usual critics - tells me: “That was a car crash. A lot of colleagues were waiting for the report to be published [before submitting letters of no confidence]. They may not wait now. He is is own worst enemy.”

This is my final night following Nigel Farage around the country. He is being greeted like a revivalist preacher by large crowds.
MPs who dismiss him and patronise are misguided. They have to ask: why is he selling out halls across the country? Many of them won't like the answer
NEW Conservative MPs are being sent home and told they don't have to vote on Labour's Privileges committee motion.
This means the motion will almost certainly pass and Boris Johnson will be investigated for misleading the Commons, as soon as Scotland Yard finishes its work.
A friend sends me a text asking: “Why does the BBC say the ‘risk’ of no deal instead of the ‘opportunity’ of no deal?”
Anyone got an answer for him?

EXC As many as 20 Tory MPs from the 2019 intake are planning to submit letters of no confidence in Boris Johnson tomorrow.
The number could breach the 54 letters required for a confidence vote. One 2019 Tory MP told me it could be the PM’s “D-Day”, adding: “His time has gone.”
What a difference a week makes. It is standing room only for Angela Rayner at 11.50am today at the Labour Party Conference. This is in stark contrast with the half-empty hall at last week’s Conservative Party conference.
Jeremy Corbyn is giving out a 100-plus page unredacted document marked "OFFICIAL - SENSITIVE (UK eyes only)" to journalists. Civil Servants will have marked it like this for a reason. And he wants to be Prime Minister in just over a fortnight's time.

BREAKING Conservative MP John Baron withdraws support from Boris Johnson.
Tory MP says: "I’m afraid the Prime Minister no longer enjoys my support – I can no longer give him the benefit of the doubt.”
This is unbelievable. Michael Gove has to have a 12-strong police escort to leave the House of Commons safely.
Andrea Leadsom has also tweeted about her police escort to get them through the People's Vote protesters outside.
What has our democracy come to?

Boris Johnson has said he does not want to resign and will stay on if the membership backs him
The PM told former treasurer
@peteratcmc
over lunch at Chequers on Friday he wishes he could "wipe away" his resignation.
Listening to Boris Johnson defending his three years as Prime Minister in the vote of no confidence, I think Conservative voters are really going to miss him
I have an idea: why doesn't the UK leave the EU on March 29 without a deal, save £39bn to help British companies and unilaterally agree to abide by EU rules for 21 months?
This would allow us to sort out trade deals (having left) which can then start at the end of 2020.

NEW Parliament has been flying the union jack upside down on its Portcullis House offices for weeks, Robert Courts MP says
Government minister Jacob Rees-Mogg says this is "deeply troubling" and demands it is changed.
The union jack flown upside down signifies a distress signal.
Tonight, after the BBC’s cameras were turned off at the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance and the King and other royals had left the Royal Albert Hall, the military orchestra and the Bach Choir played and sang an impromptu ‘Land of Hope And Glory’ and we joined in 👇
NEW Here’s the new Brexit 50p coin. Just one of two that have left the Royal Mint. Millions are available to spend in shops on Friday. Brexit is really happening folks.
My advice for the millions of children breaking up from school today. Use the next six months to:
- learn to touch type;
- learn to play a musical instrument;
- take up a hobby;
- write a weekly letter to your grandparents or other elderly relations.
Anything I missed?

Around 2,000 sixth formers who bunked off school have been protesting in Parliament Square have now wrecked the newly planted grass. And they are worried about climate change? What about the lawn?
Rumours that Sir Graham Brady might ask Boris Johnson to the 1922 committee tomorrow to explain his reforms to their ‘second jobs’.
It is hard to understate the anger. “Are we going to have to keep time sheets?” one asks me.

NEW A Northern Research Group source said: "Sadly, today’s events show the PM has no commitment to levelling up, his voters, or the North of England.
"He is burning through goodwill, and looks scared to come and engage with the very group who delivered for him during the vote."
Are you sitting comfortably? Some Tory MPs tell me David Davis is being lined up as an interim leader to take the UK through Brexit talks. DD - 70 in December - would then stand aside for a younger leader late next year.

I don’t understand Labour’s criticism of the PM’s deal on employment rights.
Isn’t the point of Brexit that outside the EU the UK government can set its own rights?
If a Government sets them too low they can face the consequences at the ballot box.

If Johnson is found guilty of wrongdoing by the Privileges committee, he can be required to make oral or written apologies, be suspended from the House or even expelled.

The one worry for Tory MPs tonight is that forcing out a sitting Prime Minister between general elections could appear anti-democratic.
The Conservative Party might not recover from this for years.
The rise of the

More candidates unveiled tomorrow. And Nigel Farage is holding an open air rally in Clacton on Wednesday. Big worry for the Conservatives.

Tory MPs will face a dilemma. If they want to know if their leader misled the House of Commons they can ask the Privileges committee to investigate.
Or they can vote against and shut down any investigation over contempt before it starts - opening themselves up for criticism.
