Delighted to see the world's first-ever mRNA norovirus vaccine entering trials in the UK. This is a big step forward in protecting people and easing the pressure on the NHS during winter.
A world-first vaccine for the winter vomiting bug norovirus will be trialled on NHS patients, in a breakthrough that could prevent thousands of hospital admissions each year โฌ๏ธ.

To understand why todayโs vote by MPs in favour of Assisted Dying matters, please watch this video.
David Minns' last request to me as his MP was to tell his story so others don't have to suffer like he did. Sadly, the law didn't change in time for David, but it could be changed in time to help countless others. Listen to his story ๐ ๐ .

As a former Health Secretary, I have thought hard about the Assisted Dying Bill. I have changed my mind on this and urge MPs to back the bill .

Following the huge success of this trial, the NHS should adopt self-testing for cervical cancer. Before Covid, the system was reluctant to rely on self-testing, but the pandemic proved we needn't be, and these trial results prove that once again.

One million more women would have life-saving checks if the NHS adopted self-testing, researchers estimate.

This is great news. An AI-driven blood test capable of predicting Parkinson's years before symptoms, will make huge improvements to early diagnosis and treatment. This is just the beginningโAI in health tech will continue to revolutionise care.

Itโs amazing to see how far we've come. Just 5 years ago, when I was Health Sec, I first saw this tech being developed at the QEH in Birmingham. Fast forward to today, and the first patient has received a personalised vaccine against bowel cancer at that same wonderful hospital.
Elliot is among the first in England to receive a personalised cancer vaccine as part of a trial aimed at helping cancer patients. If successful, these vaccines might one day prevent a patients cancer from returning or spreading. Find out more.

The victims and their families have been horrifically impacted by the infected blood scandal. I'm pleased that the Government is now providing full compensation, and welcome the appointment of Sir Robert Francis to oversee the process.
Government establishing "infected blood compensation authority", Cabinet Office Minister John Glen tells the Commons. He says, "partners, parents, siblings, children and friends and family who have acted as carers" are also "all eligible to claim".

@HMPHighPoint @A_L_F_Official 4/4. Hats off @AlexChalkChelt ๐๐ป. Only by taking decisive action on this issue can we help reduce the re-offending rate and provide offenders with the support they need to find employment and improve their life chances.
