@TheSuitedPickle @ConSelfOwns You've got a few misconceptions here, bud. First is that there are a lot of diasporas and indigenous minorities still around that are, indeed, seeking recognition. The Ainu of Japan, for example. Or the Armenians or Kurds in Turkey. Yes, even Greek diasporas too. They're there.

@TheSuitedPickle @ConSelfOwns The second is that we see 'conquest' as illegitimate because we don't live in a world any longer where wholesale displacement and murder of a people by another people or state is acceptable. We're past that, or should be.

For those curious, yes Kanye could in fact get ballot access on enough states if he worked real hard over the next month to do it. Most states have their deadlines in early to mid August. Some are in July but require lots of sigs to get collected in a short time. #kanye2020

It's not about calling 'conquest' illegitimate - it doesn't even matter what it was or wasn't at this point. Right now, recognizing historical harm and stopping ongoing displacement of people is what matters.

The PM just said that his greatest regret was how he handled electoral reform and decided against using his majority to implement ranked ballots to get rid of FPTP as he had promised.

@BonnieCrombie @marymargaretbey Will it? Considering your record as Mississauga mayor with regard to density; your slip-ups and attempted retractions on the Greenbelt; and now your abandonment of a primary climate goal - a price on pollution - I have some doubts you'll hold to your word on anything.

@kyle_dg_ @JMilesColeman Here's the thing, though - did he campaign at all? Or was he just elected because of the R beside his name?
