Understood. But you were quoting a comment implying we were sloppy - hence your Joe Clark reference and comment about being "not careful". That was not the case. We were 100% efficient in our vote. The result was simply the product of a minority parliament.
Just pointing out how precarious things are. One of the first votes of the new Parliament and the government comes up short. Paired or not, expected or not, that’s worth paying attention to.

Very surprised you would jump on this without giving it some thought, @FredDeLorey. 169 - 1 (speaker) - 4 (paired votes) = 164 We were 100% efficient. We did not go into that vote thinking we would win it, but then almost accidentally did due to opposition sloppiness.
The Liberals are governing like they have a majority. They don’t. They just lost a vote forcing them to table a spring budget, something they weren’t planning to do. If they’re not careful, they’re going to Joe Clark themselves.
