Been two years since Joey Collette was KIA. One of the funniest people I’ve met. I’ll always wonder what would have happened if I stayed in the Army and went on one last deployment. Could I have done something more? I’d switch places with him so he could still be with his family

It's been a year since my friend and former Soldier, Sgt Joey Collete, was KIA. This one hurt the most out of my friends who were KIA. I'd change places with him in a heartbeat so he could be with his family. Miss and love you, buddy. Take the time to call those closest to you.

I have a lot of experience with WP;it’s nasty stuff. Sometimes it won’t ignite properly & will look like a rock. But let’s say a kid comes along and picks up that rock and it breaks apart, exposing to oxygen, it could reignite in their hand at ~1500 Degrees F. It’s awful.

Joey was one of my Soldiers when I was still at Fort Carson. One of the best Soldiers I ever had as an EOD Team Leader. Funny as heck and never complained. He was one of a kind. I miss him dearly.

I have a similar story. My eod team was supporting a combined arms company in Afghanistan. I show to the ied they called in and the PL told me he cut the wires because he thought that’s what I would do. My man. You were standing on the main charge when you cut the wires

My roommate’s sister teaches a forensics course at a high school in Atlanta. She asked if I could zoom & talk to them about EOD, explosives, evidence collection,and crime scenes involving threats such as the VBIED in Nashville. It was a great time and these kids were wicked smart

When I adopted Mia,she was returned because of severe separation anxiety & had been attacked by the first adopter’s other dog. Now she’s living her best life.

Normally you’d do this remote, but obviously, they’re out there still kicking ass in crazy conditions.They’re using water to reduce friction in the fuze well (where the fuze). Explosive residue can get into the threading and all it takes is heat,shock & friction to set it off
