I had the pleasure of attending the first International Military Women’s Health Workshop, an opportunity to foster collaboration & optimize #WomensHealth for women and gender diverse #military members. What I saw today sends a powerful message of change and unity of purpose.

Deeply honoured to share this day of reflection and remembrance with the women and men in uniform, their families, and the veterans who are here today. We remember and honour the sacrifices of all those who have answered the call to serve, past and present. #CanadaRemembers

On this Remembrance Day and always, I honour Austin John Hadfield, who fought for his adopted country of Canada in 2 World Wars, and lost his brother at Passchendaele. That's my grandma on his knee.

“If we’re not around to tell them, how are they going to know? Who’s going to tell them?” We will. We will tell them about you.
Today is our first #RemembranceDay without our dear pappy. Able Seaman Alex Polowin. We remember him and honour his legacy, which he proudly shared with thousands of adults & students throughout his life. #CanadaRemembers

April 17, 2002. Our dear brothers. Sergeant Marc Léger, 29, from Lancaster, Ontario. Corporal Ainsworth Dyer, 24, from Montreal, Québec. Private Richard Green, 21, from Mill Cove, Nova Scotia. Private Nathan Smith, 27, from Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. We still think of you.
Ainsworth Dyer gained a reputation as a responsible and mature soldier with the @CanadianForces. At age 24, while serving in Afghanistan, Dyer was killed in a friendly fire incident. We remember him. #CanadaRemembers

Private George Price was just doing his job. How could he have known they had reached the end? He would never know. He took a sniper's bullet and died at 10:58 a.m. Two minutes before the end. Remember Private Price.

On Remembrance Day I take a moment to remember all who lost their lives in the service of Canada. This year I make special mention of my late colleague Capt Charles Pitkin, CD who we lost to PTSD this year. This sketch of Chuck in Afghanistan is by Gertrude Kearns

The @CanadianArmy Rangers are always ready for service – wherever and whenever the call comes! As they mark their 75th anniversary this year, it was an honour to receive the tomahawk and to learn more about the invaluable work they do in communities across Canada. #CR75

Over the next few weeks my account will feature images from various locations across Europe. These places are where young Canadians travelled to, did not make it home. From the area known as Flanders poppies reach to the sun .. @CAFinUS #royalcanadianlegion #canada #belgium

He could light up any room. As a gunner in the Royal Navy during WWII, he battled German U-boats that stalked Allied convoys. He saw D-Day and the liberation of Hong Kong. “It seems like it was something I had to do” Bill Saunders died last week. Please remember him.
