reporting tonight: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was asked to evacuate Kyiv at the behest of the U.S. government but turned down the offer. An American official tells me Zelenskyy said, “The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.”
For those who may not know: no regulation specifies that the president or vice president should salute or return the salute of military personnel. Army regulations state that neither civilians nor those wearing civilian attire are required to render salutes.
As a Marine, I am sick and tired of this President FAILING to return their salutes. Total disrespect. And this is NOT the first time he has failed to do this. My last count was 11.

Hi. I’m an investigative reporter on the—let’s call it—free agent list. Despite that status, I have news to report. The voiceless still need a voice. The powerful still need to be held accountable. I’ve turned on tips for the first time, no pressure at all but it would help out.
What is this? An MRAP for ants? How can we expect Marines to travel if they can't even fit inside the vehicle? It needs to be at least…….three times bigger than this!
Interesting. The Emily Grace Rainey in this article is the same Emily Grace Rainey me

Traditionally, military officers never salute an enlisted person first, as it is the duty of the enlisted to pay respect to the officers appointed over them. Here, Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the JCS, is the first to salute a former Army private from World War II.
For the past 2 years, I’ve tweeted out the names of the fallen from the American war in Afghanistan. The 1st time was around the fall of Kabul. The 2nd around Memorial Day. I will start again on Friday at 5 pm ET. Many attach personals stories and photos.
Drew Carey is a former Marine. There’s an expression among Marines—officer and enlisted— that says “leaders eat last.” It’s not just a saying. In practice, Marines are served food by rank, with the highest ranking Marines eating only after everyone else has been served.

I’ve never seen this colorized photo before. I love everything about it. A U.S. Marine corporal sleeping at Union Station in 1948. At this point, Black men had only been allowed to serve in the Marines for the past six years which means this Marine served at Montford Point in NC.
