Personal opinion.
I don't want to talk to a NPC who can just talk forever about... nothing.
A game is about a story and an experience. If someone didn't craft the story or experience to move it forward, I don't want to just talk to some random forever about random stuff.
@monicalimco
I have a life principle I try to live by.
‘Use the good stuff’
Don’t just save stuff. Use the nice dishes. Use the fancy ingredients. Don’t wait.

Today, that image was released.

capitalism is awesome. You get the same goods as rich people in a huge number of cases.
A billionaire can't buy a better phone than you. Sure they can cover an iPhone in gems to make it more expensive but you get the same phone they do etc.
@gregisenberg
Nextdoor is a social network constrained to your actual location.
And it falls to the lowest common denominator of content.
And the people with the least going on in their lives spend the most time on it.
So take the toxicity of Reddit, combine it with the politics of your

People value consistency and predictability.
They know they’re getting a 75% good cup of coffee and experience every time at Starbucks
Whereas with independent it can be 40% - 200%.
So they pick the ‘safe’ predictable not as good option.

As Junior programmer, I once found a file full of thousands of lines of the same copied, useless code.
I was told not to remove them because that would drop us below the 70% Unit Test coverage percentage a partner required us to have.
@YIMBYLAND
Seattle is not that walkable. There are section that are walkable but getting from North to South is difficult. And the freeway down the middle makes it harder.
Boston is actually walkable. We spent a few days there and only used an Uber once to save time coming back from the

true but a lot of people might lose their shirts on this. Making something complicated easier is great if the risk is understood. Previously the risk was behind a high learning curve. Now it is in plain sight.

A set of personal hygiene and grooming products you can just leave in your travel bag. Always ready to go.
A fast iPhone charger and 6 ft cord for every room.
Throw out all your old socks and buy a set of 10-20 of the exact same style so you don't have to match.

They will state their opinions or findings, but acknowledge that they could be wrong.
And they can state your thoughts better than you can state them.

In 10 years 80 percent or more of new yard tool engines will be electric.
Much quieter. More reliable. Batteries can swap between devices. Simpler. Less repairs.
@tferriss
Make sure you get a system that will work if/when the power goes out.
Surprisingly, some rely on a controller that once the power dies, can't use the power coming from the cells.
So just ask to make sure 'this will power my home when the power goes out?' and how etc.

Beautiful.
I spent, no joke, a few days of spare time breaking down how the effect worked to understand it.
Recreated it step by step here with controls to manually control the inputs instead of the tilt doing that.

20k steps a day is 1000 calories burned above baseline. That is a ton.
Yes American food needs to improve, but American food + American non walkable cities seems to be a similar sized issue.

Actual question? I can’t find the link right now but there’s a guy on YouTube who actually tested this with data and it’s pretty interesting.

Country Bakery - Lehi

What am I missing?
Another fun Midjourney style to try:
Shockingly detailed monochromatic vector illustration of a scientist holding a test tube, in the style of Philip Bond, clear face, eyepatch, full-body shot, inked outline, comic book drawing, character design, high detail, on white background

Wrote a whole article about it:
Two methods:
1. store all the advisor text in an embedding db and inject the related text into the prompt
2. Create prompt response pairs from the text, and fine tune your own model.
Government: You owe us money. It’s called taxes.
Me: How much?
Gov’t: You figure it out.
Me: Cool, so I'll just pay what I want?
Gov’t: Nope! We know exactly how much you owe. But you have to guess that number too.
Me: What if I get it wrong?
Gov’t: You go to prison

Alibaba for the US.
One issue with buying 'made in the US' is there is no great centralized list of factories and what they produce and how much it costs.

If an EV is more like a phone (battery with wheels?) makes sense that the country that makes all the phones would get good at making them.

As a solo dev, I just don't have time to test for 2% of the market. :(
I wish I did have the time.
Are there any tools that make browser testing easier?
Learned something cool from the responses!
To copy the calculation result, ⌘+C without selecting anything. 🪄
I used to hit Enter to get the result, then select and copy. This is much faster.
Thanks everyone!

Is there a way to show final price up front?
I hate finding a nice place for $130 a night and then find it is really $400 with cleaning fees, random fees etc.

I read an article about this but can't find it.
I think it covered some causes but one really interesting thing was low trust vs high trust societies.
In places where the people trust the government, law enforcers, and businesses there is willingness to try or use different

Hard work is required. Working weekends is not.

Don't want to offer unsolicited advice, but when I am nervous about a social event, I try to adopt the mindset that I am going to help someone else out. So I try to help others have a good time. Magically it helps me have a good time as well.

It would also scrape the text off the page and let me search against that behind the scenes.
Maybe I remember I read a quote about Walt Whitman, but it was in a blog post with the url so when I search Walt Whitman I get nothing.

I use it to find sites that I saw, but closed, and now need to go back to. Being able to easily and quickly search the history, without multiple clicks or time spent going into the full history would be great.

Major warning. It could totally derail project and your momentum.
Existing code is tested code.
I’ve never seen a rewrite that didn’t take 3-10x longer than planned.

Two things I learned today
1. Urchin is an old English word meaning 'hedgehog'. So sea urchin could have been called 'sea hedgehogs'
2. The Nazi's unknowingly selected a photograph of a Jewish baby as their Aryan poster child.

Same. Appalled by the options.
But I'm voting for Biden because he respects and protects the democratic process this country is built on.
Still not happy about the choices. :)

in every email, tell people:
1. who you are,
2. what you do,
3. why they should care.
Don't just say 'New thing is out!'
Say 'We make pasta knives! New thing is out! You can make pasta faster now!'
Every. single. email.
