I'm betting Cursor only gets better from here, and Windsurf only gets worse. Windsurf will have "acquisition done, time to chill" vibes. Cursor will have "we haven't won yet" vibes.
Windsurf bought for $3B at ~$40M ARR (75x) by OpenAI. Cursor raised at $9B at ~$300M ARR (30x). GitHub was bought for $7.5B at ~$300M ARR (25x) by Microsoft, 2018. Shocking Google hasn't done anything here yet given how good Gemini 2.5 Pro is. Not unlikely that they buy Cursor.
