saying america sucks or is in decline is high status in most circles. actually saying anything that is desirable but hard to obtain is too - harvard, VC funding, luxury goods, coveted jobs. but things are desirable for a reason. america is great and only getting better 🇺🇸.

clearly there are three tiers of startups. S tier - soham applied and was rejected. A tier - soham applied and was accepted (then fired). D tier - even soham didn't apply.

tbh this would be a great time to buy the dip and hire soham. dude probably learned his lesson and thinks his career in tech is over. if he’s as good as people say he is, then he’s probably underpriced.

btw this is the work trial soham failed. totally understandable if you're juggling 5 jobs
us too. soham came to us highly recommended by a friend who didn't have headcount to hire him. fortunately he didn't pass our interview process - glad we saved ourselves a bit of time on this one.

PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware. I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses.

another email client misses unicorn status. superhuman was super successful, but email clients alone are hard to make massive businesses. - outlook/gmail are entrenched w enterprise contracts.- consumers don't want to pay for email.- most clients aren't differentiated enough
