I was excavating the footprint of a Mississippian-era, native dwelling (approx. 600 years old) and was amazed that the roof thatch (prairie grass) was still recognizable as such. It's amazing how well preserved something so delicate was, only a few feet down.

Having raised cattle, I saw this several times. I never saw a rejection based on "runts" or any defect. The few cows I saw behave this way NEVER took to their calves. Nature has a lot of variation and that includes females who do not wish to be bred or mother.

I lived that life: cloth diapers, milk cow/goats, subsistence farming, hand-me-downs, wood heat, hauling water. The people who live this way to survive are fairly miserable (and exhausted), due to constantly worrying about the necessities. Don't do this to children.

I'm the only female in a department with 14 males, 1 male manager, and 2 male supervisors. They know I won't sleep with any of them, so there are no perks. They bring each other food, but not me. My manager also gives me job responsibilities that the males are exempt from.

My employer exposed unknowing employees to cancer-causing chemicals for 7 years with no PPE, and incorrect MSDS. I reported it to OSHA and the fine was 6K and the company was mandated to inform employees of the risk. That's it. The penalties are nothing.

I had one of those. Spent more than a decade providing hormonal birth control. I went off it for health reasons and my bf balked at having to provide birth control. I had to remind him about the thousands of dollars I'd already spent. Frankly, he owed me money.
