Just saw a little girl at breakfast poke her almost non-existent stomach and say "mummy when I go home I'm eating nothing in the morning before school because I am so fat now" and my heart just broke for her.

Why is that as an adult it's frowned upon to read your book at the dinner table, but when you're a child it seems to be actively encouraged? No fair!.
