Also THIS. Projections for Elizabeth Line & Dartmoor Line both far underestimated actual usage & exceptional economic benefits. We need to build public transport at 6 X the current rate to avoid the worst impacts of the climate emergency. This needs addressing urgently.
This is a problem facing every single new railway in the UK - this deeply biased and flawed analysis method stops most projects in their tracks.
This is DESPITE every rail project that does elbow its way into existence easily exceeding all projections of usage and benefits.

All a bit horse bolted now. They screened at airports, then used actual human beings with local awareness to speak to contacts of those who tested positive. Ensured they isolated & tested them. We left airports open, held up a badge and wittered about the Isle of Wight etc...

It sounds like a bad April Fool's joke. During a climate crisis, Gov has cut the rate of Air Passenger Duty for domestic flights. This is terrible news for the environment.

The thing is, cycling infrastructure just doesn’t exist in the UK. This is Finsbury Park. It’s relatively long, but cars park in it, people walk in it and it stops abruptly. Therefore it’s safer to cycle in the road. Until lanes are normalised and extensive, this’ll happen.
